Her Beginning
"Alright. Now that we have the basics covered and you seem stable, I will take you to your family, and before we leave I am going to explain to you all your living arrangements." Forester told me while walking down a corridor.
I nodded my head silently as I followed behind him in defeat, there was no way I was going to get out of this now.
After a few turns and a deafening silence we reached the room that my family was in. "Oh Amara, I hope you are alright dear, your father and I have been so worried about you. This must be so hard on you." My stepmother Alicia said rushing up to me and giving me a hug.
She was the sweetest woman alive, with her bright red hair and green eyes, I felt at home. I knew I was lucky to have someone like her, she has been like a second mother to me.
"I'm okay Alicia, it was rough at first to wrap my head around it but I think I'm okay for right now." I reassured her with a smile.
"Amara, I'm so sorry for all of this... I wish I had known." My father William said.
Me and my dad have never been very emotional we just tease each other to show our affection, so I knew he was having a rough time when he said this to me.
"Dad it isn't your fault. The royalty in our blood goes to far back for even grandma to have known. We can pull through, we always do." I told him trying to mean every word I said.
For a moment we almost forgot about Forester's presence until he cleared his throat so loud it made me jump.
"Jeezuz Forester! It's been a long day, couldn't you have given me one moment with my family?!" I said furiously.
"I gave you plenty of moments Your Highness, but now it's time we get down to business. I'm sure you don't want to be stuck here all day, correct?" He said in a straight voice while staring me down with his cold eyes.
"I'm afraid he is right, Amara. I would like to be out of here as soon as possible." Alicia said gently. I looked at her and sighed as I sat down waiting for more horrible news to come out of Forester's mouth.
Somehow I knew we weren't going to get along very well.
"Alright, so we made arrangements already and there is a mansion read for your arrival, complete with servants, furniture, all of the supplies that you will need. It is located just outside of the city and you will have enough land to be able to entertain yourselves-" He began.
"Wait! Your telling me that I'm not even going to be living in the city anymore?! I have a life you know! You just can't strip it away completely! You already took away my school..." I said allowing the sorrow enter my voice a little bit. I have moved so much already.
"Well if you really want to be killed then fine, by all means live in the city!" He replied standing up. I think i may have made him mad...
"Fine, I live in the stupid country.." I huffed and slouched down preparing to sulk. It's what I do best... Other than eating. And swimming. Okay so maybe it's what I do third best, but still!
"Anyways, as i was saying.. You will be stopping by your previous household to pick up your personal belongings and then you will be transferred to the mansion, your new home." He told us, well, mostly my parents because they are more attentive at the moment.
"Now Amara, you will have a daily schedule that you will recieve first thing tomorrow morning. Your schedule will give you your regular day to day schooling as well as classes on royal duties and behaviours. You will also have a security team covering you at all points of the day, the ones who you will see the most of, you will be meeting once you arrive at the mansion." He told me staring me right in the eye.
