The Origins of Mysa

Long ago, in the ancient city of Elmyra, a mysterious force began to awaken within people, a gift that would come to be known as mysa. These abilities were not random but were believed to emerge in harmony with each individual's deepest nature—an expression of their soul's purpose and their potential to contribute to society. Some say that mysa abilities were gifts from the spirits who watched over Elmyra, blessings designed to help humanity thrive and evolve.

Initially, mysa powers were rare, granted only to a select few deemed worthy by the Elders of Elmyra. Those first empowered were healers, builders, and protectors who wielded their mysa for the betterment of all. However, as more people unlocked their unique abilities, the city found itself divided between those who held these powers and those who did not. This disparity led to a quest for understanding the essence of mysa and how it might be shared among all.

On earth, your strength output is finely calibrated based on your Mysa. The lower your Mysa output is, the weaker you are as a being; most humans are bestowed with unique abilities, carefully tailored to their background, potential, and personality traits. These abilities become integral to their daily lives, shaping how they navigate the world. This captivating story delves into the challenges Tsude Kame in the town of Mosspeak faces a journey filled with intrigue and betrayal.

*Tsude is asleep and wakes up to the end of the day bell* Jiro Maseki leans in with a concerned expression, "Hey, are you good bro?" Tsude Drowsily replies giving a small, tired smile before softly murmuring, "Yeah, just tired." His eyes betray the exhaustion he tries to downplay, his voice carrying the weight of a long day. While walking home after a long day at school, Tsude strolls down the city streets. As he turns a corner, he notices a homeless man sitting on a bench, his weary eyes gazing at the passing cars. Feeling empathy, Tsude reaches into his bag and pulls out the apple he had packed for himself earlier that day. Without hesitating, he approaches the man and gently tosses him the apple, a small gesture of kindness that brightens the man's face. The streetlight above flickers faintly, casting a soft glow on the scene, illuminating the bond formed between two strangers in a fleeting moment of connection. Tsude smiles warmly at the man before continuing on his way, his heart warmed by the simple act of compassion that had brought a brief spark of hope to someone in need on this chilly evening.

Tsude slowly creeps his front door open, the hinges creaking softly as he enters the familiar scene of his parents engaged in yet another argument, a common occurrence in their household. However, on this particular occasion, there is a noticeable change in the air; the tension hangs heavily, suggesting that the heated exchange is escalating, hinting at the possibility of physical confrontation, a departure from their usual verbal disputes. Feeling fatigued, Tsude dismisses his weariness as a possible factor influencing his judgment, convinced that the likelihood of physical contact occurring was slim, right? As Tsude wearily slumped up on the first step, the familiar shouts echoing down the staircase. He'd heard his parents argue plenty of times before, voices raised and harsh, but somehow... today felt different.

A loud crash echoed through the house. Tsude froze, his fingers gripping the banister, his heart pounding. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to drown out the memories that flooded him—the other nights, the other fights.

*Flashback*

He was younger, maybe eight or nine, standing in the same spot, clutching his stuffed bear to his chest as he listened to his parents' muffled voices through the walls. Back then, the fights were more like storms, rumbling through the house but passing quickly. His mother would come into his room afterward, her eyes red, whispering that everything was fine.

Tsude shook his head, trying to banish the memory. But the voices grew louder, more cutting.
