The golden sun rose above the land as it always did with clear sky's and a gentle breeze flowing across the green pastures. "It was a wonderful day to go out and enjoy the land." Thought the young Netsui. The laughs and cheers of local children flowed into the house as Netsui watched in envy. "Netsui dear, please focus on your studies. There's no time for distractions." His mother called, redirecting his attention to his book.
Hours passed by day after day as endless lessons and tasks piled up with no end in sight until one in particular day. "Netsui dear, we need to talk. You have a great responsibility being next in line to inherit our families land. I know you don't think you're fit to lead but I see greatness in son." He's mother explained. "But Mother I'm not cut out for this, Senri is much better suited for role and the results of our studies shows it." Netsui explains. "You know that's not how it works son. And on the note of your studies, the rest of the family has taken notice and have voted to have you sent to the Castle of the Leaf to get better training." Netsui upon hearing this is frozen from shock of the news. "What?" He asks in disbelief. "I'm sorry son but it's out of my hands. You leave at the end of the week."
In no time amost a week had past and Netsui had one more day till it was time to leave. "Why did I have to be born first and bear this responsibility?" Netsui says to himself looking out his window. "What troubles you?" A voice calles to him from below. Netsui looks down to see a green haired boy looking up at him. He had seen him before always wondering the streets alone as he was homeless with no family, Netsui found the boy quite interesting for some reason. "Smile more, you don't want to wrinkle that beautiful face with worry." The green haired boy said with a smirk. "I'm a boy!" Netsui replied with an embarrassed blush. "I matters not to me, I'd rather see your amazing smile." Answered the boy from below, making Netsui's face redder. "Tell me what's the matter?" Netsui ponders on it for a moment before telling the green haired boy about his problems. "I see your headed to the Castle of the Leaf then." "Yes" Netsui replied. "I wish I could get away from this life and live how I want to." Netsui sighs. "Then why don't you, just for tonight let's go out and enjoy every you've missed out on before you leave." The green haired boy replied holding out his hand. Netsui pondered on the idea with worry, but something about the homeless boy made him feel comfort and as he carefully climbed out his window joining the boy. " I never asked, what is your name?" Netsui asked the boy. "Ranka." He replied as the two ran off into town.
The note was filled with enjoy and thrills. For the first time Netsui felt free, enjoy life to the fullest. As the night died down the two returned to Netsui's home and said their goodbyes. "Well it looks I like that pretty smile came back." Ranka teased with a chuckle. "It was a great day but sadly it had to end eventually." Netsui sighs. "Maybe not totally, I'm actually was planning on traveling to the Castle grounds to try and start a new life, maybe I'll see you there?" Netsui's eyes lit up at the news. "M-maybe so, I hope to see you there." Netsui said with delight, but just then the door to his flew house open to an angry elder. "Young Duke what are you doing with a boy of his class at this time of night! Come inside immediately!" As the man pulled Netsui inside and to his room. "Stay put and go to sleep you leave at sunrise tomorrow." As Netsui lay in his bed all signs of sadness was gone as he now had a reason hope that his time at the castle would turn into something fruitful as their was now someone to turn his dull life around.
