(fallhowls POV)

My paws hit the scorching hot dirt as I scurried along, Adderpaw following closely behind me. "She was quite fast for an apprentice," I thought to myself as we stopped on top of the outlook rock. 

"Here, look below and see if you can find anything."

I turned my gaze towards the bundle of joy that sat beside me, her eyes wide as she stared below the rock.

"Hmm, I can't see anything, fall howl."

Adderpaw replied, her paws sitting over the corners of the sharp rock.

"Keep looking, you might find something."

Adderpaw huffed, moving closer to the edge of the rock. My instinct suddenly kicked in as Adderpaw slipped

"Whoop!-"

I caught her by the scruff, sitting her down beside me.

"Maybe let's hunt near the barn."
I suggested after Adderpaw's slip up. she nodded, embarrassed at her mistake. I'd lift my rear, trotting off towards the barn. Adderpaw followed beside me this time, keeping her head hanging low.

"Don't be embarrassed, Adderpaw."

I chuckled softly,

"We all make mistakes"

I added, stopping beside a small bush of juniper berries.

"Now, crouch down and use that nose of yours to see if you can pick up any scent."

Adderpaw nodded, crouching down.

(Adderpaws POV)

My wet nose skimmed the ground as I searched for a scent. "Anything, please, anything!" I cried in my head. I really wanted to catch something. I suddenly picked up a scent, my ear twitched and I kept quiet, trying to see where it came from. Suddenly, a rabbit popped out of a bush, sniffing the floor. I laid low, slowly creeping forward as I kept my eyes locked on to the juicy rabbit. I quickly lunged out, sinking my teeth deep into the rabbit's pelt as it yelped. My claws sunk into the sides of the rabbit as it squirmed. Once it finally stopped moving, I leaped up, trotting proudly back to FallHowl.

"Look!"

I mumbled between the rabbit's blood-stained fur.

"Wow! What a great catch!"
She smiled,

"Time to go"

FallHowl purred, flicking her tail and padding off.

Once we arrived at camp, I was exhausted. I headed straight towards the apprentice den, noticing Vinepaw and Mistpaw arguing again.

"What is it this time?"
I mumbled to Shadowpaw who was sitting a few nests away from the quarrelling apprentices.

"They're fighting over who gets what nest."

Shadowpaw responded, kneading the mossy nest that sat below him.

"Oh,"
I mumbled, gazing over at the two arguing felines.

"They'll get over it"

Shadowpaw added, curling up. I nodded slowly, sitting my rear on the soft mossy nest.

"Yeah, eventually."

We both chuckled. I laid down, wrapping my tail around my mitts. I slowly dozed off, the feeling of the cool breeze rustling my fur.

"Adderpaw"

A voice mumbled as a paw reached for my shoulder, shaking my body slowly.

"Hm?"
I lifted my head to meet a gaze with my mother, LilyHeart.
