(Pitch's POV)

I occasionally tapped the necklace Cupid gave me. I looked out at the darkness of my lair and sighed. I looked at the necklace.

"What am I supposed to do with this!?" I clutched it tightly. I looked at it and sighed, holding my head.

"Pitch!"

My head shot up, and I looked around. "(_your name_)?"

"Pitch, please! The Guardians are after me!"

I didn't see her anywhere.

"Pitch, I need you!"

I used the shadow of her room to get to her, but she was sleeping.

What?!

I saw a small glimmer by the door, but it was disappeared when I stepped towards it. I heard (_your name_) waking up.

"Pitch?"

I turned around to face her.

"Pitch!" She ran to me, embracing me.

I held her, then stroked her hair.

"I was scared you wouldn't come back." Her embrace felt tighter and warmer.

"I know." I smiled. "I know." I played with some of her hair, pulling away. "I also know that I wanted to see you."

She smiled and I took her hand. I twirled her around and pressed her back against me, embracing her by the waist. She placed her hand on the back of my head, pulling it down for a kiss. After the second kiss, I placed my hand on hers and twirled her around to face me.

I smiled. "It looks very lovely on you."

"What?"

I pointed at the necklace that she was now wearing.

She looked at it, then grinned at me. "I love it."

I smiled. "It's yours, sweetheart."

Her face flushed as she grinned. "It's perfect." She placed her hand on my cheek and pulled me in for a kiss. I kissed her back, and then I pulled her against me, stroking her hair and lightly tracing her lower spine. She wrapped her arms around my neck as we kissed again. I felt strange inside as we kissed one last time, because I pulled away.

"Pitch, what's wrong?" Her beautiful (_eye color_) eyes pierced into me.

I took her hands off my shoulder. "The sun is rising, and," I sighed. "And I should probably go."

"Why?" She squeezed my hand. "Pitch stay with me. Please." She held my hand closer to her.

There was a knock on the front door of the house. "(_your name_)!" a voice called.

Her eyes were wide and I could feel her heart beat fast. She was afraid.

"Take me with you," she whispered. "Please."

I nodded and embraced her, allowing a shadow to engulf us and take us away.

"Pitch, I can't see anything."

I let go of her and stepped back.

"Oh." She smiled.

I smiled. "Not much to see is there."

She looked around at the cages and scattered stairs. "What is this places?"

"This is my old lair."

"Old?"

"The new one is a world of darkness." I shrugged. "The fearlings don't like light."

She looked around. "There is something welcoming about darkness."

"It's not entirely dark here."

"I know." She turned to me. "I like it here though."

I played with a strand of her hair as I got in front of her to face her. "You can only stay here for a while." I held her hands.

"Why? I want to be here with you."

I could feel something growing inside her. "Please, just allow me some time to figure out what I'm going to do."

"What do you mean?"

I traced her jawline. "Sweetheart, I'm a bad man. The Nightmare King at worst. Therefore, I need to learn not to scare you as I am with you."

Her shoulders lowered a bit. "You don't think I'm strong enough to be with you."

"I didn't say that. I simply said I need to learn how to live with you if I'm..." I sighed, looking away.

Crush that hope... That light is offending...

"You're what?"

I turned to her. "We shouldn't spend time together worrying about that. We should worry about us."

"We should talk about it." She crossed her arms.

I smiled. "May when you have more time with me." I kissed her forehead. I played with her hair. "For now you should go back."

She frowned. "Only if you come back for me soon." She looked up at me.

I traced her jawline, lifting her chin up. "Of course, sweetheart, but please remember I might have a hard time with this."

She pulled my face towards her and kissed me. I kissed her lips softly, then I scraped her cheek with my lips and lightly traced up to her forehead and kissed it.

I embraced her and appeared in her room. She kissed my cheek, and I held her tightly. "Think of me, and I'll be there. You don't have to summon any fear." I slowly kissed her, and my hand slowly left hers in the shadow of lair.
