I peeked over, staring into the window.

Darn.

Clint was there, trying to feed Teresa. I quickly ran to the first person I saw. Winston.

"Heyyy... Winston!" I said, acting relaxed and way too polite.

"Y/n, what do you want this time?" He asked, sounding exasperated. I always ran to him when I needed something done. Especially when I didn't want to do it.

"Ok, so this time it's simple. I just..." I smiled nervously, rubbing my hands together awkwardly. "...need you to distract Clint so I can sneak into the room to see Teresa. Um, the girl." I said quickly.

"Y/n, no!" He ran a hand through his hair. "I know I've helped you in the past. But this is too much!"

"More than when I asked you to distract everyone so I could sneak into the Maze?" I asked, confused. Yeah, don't ask. Fun, but I'd never do it again. Long story short, I nearly got stuck out in the Maze the whole night long. I didn't, though, and I still got away with it!

"Yes! No! Y/n... stop. I'm trying to protect you from getting hurt. Or caught and Banished." Winston sighed.

"Oh, please? I swear this isn't bad and won't get anyone in trouble!" I pleaded. "If anything, it'll help us! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-"

"Ok! Alright!" Winston threw his hands up. "I'll help you. Just stop."

"Yay!" I hugged him. "Thank you thank you thank you!"

Then I turned and ran back to the window. I saw Winston walk in.

"Hey, Clint." Winston said, although I could barely hear him. "So - um - I think I pulled a muscle. Can you help?"

"Sure." Clint said. "I'll be right there. Just let me get Jeff so that -"

"Um, I think she'll be fine." Winston protested. "Plus, it really hurts."

"Uh... okay."

The two boys exited. I silently cheered, then lifted the partially opened window and climbed in the room.

"Teresa?" I hissed, shutting the door.

Teresa? Thank goodness I remembered how to do this. Are you there? I've come back. And I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings. I only just remembered you last night.

Y/n?

It was her! She sounded timid, but it was her!

Teresa!

Y/n! Oh, I've missed you! Her voice turned joyous.

You remember me? I asked.

Yes! Is Tom there?

Who?

Tom. Thomas.

Oh! Yes, he's in the Slammer though.

Slammer?

Kind of like our jail. He and I ran out to save Minho and Alby. Alby's our leader, and Minho is the Keeper of the Runners. I told her, sitting on her bed and crossing my legs.

Wow. That's really brave of you guys! I'm so proud! Oh dear, I just sounded like a eighty year old woman talking to her grandchildren, didn't I?

Yep! I laughed.

And just like that, we were talking and laughing, just like in my memory. The only difference was we were talking in our minds and she was in a coma. Thankfully, she didn't say anything scary or cryptic.

Teresa, do you remember Newt? I asked.

Newt? Yes, barely. Didn't you like him? She responded.

Yes. Well, guess what.

What?

I'm his girlfriend now! He's here! I exclaimed.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could hear her joyful squealing. She was happy for me. And acting like my best friend again.

I smiled.

THAT'S AMAZING! OH MY GOODNESS CAN I PLAN THE WEDDING? OOO CAN I BE A BRIDESMAID??? She screamed happily.

There's no wedding! I cried, then added: But if there is you totally can be a bridesmaid. Not sure about you planning my wedding, though.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She screeched. A couple hours later, I noticed the sky growing dark.

Well, I've got to go to bed. Talk tomorrow?

Definitely. And, Y/n?

Yes?

Thank you.
