Song creds: passing papers by Egg
(Note: The song perspective is Akaashi's just so y'all know, might hit a bit different knowing that)
(Also, sorry, not that big of a banger, but it fits the scenario way too well)
Passing papers is a decent way to flirt, right?
Akaashi sat in the row in front of her, to her left, sitting diagonally from her. She'd sometimes glance his way, her eyes always managing to catch his.
If I'm not forward, I can't possibly get hurt, right?
Akaashi could often feel the feeling of being looked at, but once he realized who it was, he didn't mind. He soon realized it was the girl he had fallen for at their first approach.
I never trusted the idea of love at first sight
The bell had rung. School has begun.
The teacher began their lesson. "Alright, since you guys are freshmen, you all should get to meet each other!" By this, they meant a partner project. "Partner up!"
Neither Akaashi, nor Mizuna knew anyone in their class, except each other. People started pairing up, probably going to the same middle school, so Mizuna began her approach.
"Hey, um, Akaashi-kun, mind if I work with you? If I'm being honest, I don't really know anyone here..."
So settle down
Is it weird I want to be with you at midnight
I think you'd look especially lovely in the moonlight
"Akaashi-kun?" Mizuna attempted to get his attention. Akaashi was staring at her, lovestruck. He got out of his daze once he realized he was staring.
"Oh, um, sorry about that. And um, sure, I don't mind." Akaashi apologized for the awkward situation. She gave him a forgiving simper.
What am I saying, I can't even get my words right
When you're around
The assignment was handed out, and the two began working it out. Although, someone was a little less focused than he usually would be...
Cause
Smiles are my weakness and I
Think yours is the prettiest
"Akaashi-kun? Are you listening?" Mizuna noticed his dazed behavior throughout the class period, but she felt too shy to mention it.
"Hm? Oh, yeah." He proceeded to do the work, trying his best not to get distracted. But how could he not get distracted with a beauty like her sitting right next to him?
"Oh, could I correct something real quick?" She asked for his consent before just randomly taking his paper to erase his work and replace it with hers. That just seemed rude in every way.
"Yeah, sure." She leaned over to correct a mistake he made while spaced out. There's no way he could focus on mathematics with her, his crush, right there, only a couple inches away from him, when he can barely focus already.
She got so close to him, he tried to ignore, but he really couldn't. She seemed so pretty, so elegant, and he could smell her scent from the closeness.
"There."
He really hoped she couldn't feel his heartbeat that rapidly increased when she gave him one of her smiles.
And you show it quite a bit when I'm around
It's almost entertaining how we're searching for the same thing
But I would never see it through
If Mizuna was being completely honest, she too, was close to melting being this close to the boy she had fallen for. It really was love at first sight. She tried to remain chill though, not wanting to give it away. It was so hard to keep her composure, but she thought it might've been possible that he was losing his.
*Author-chan here! Sorry, these last couple chapters have been a bit short, so I'll try to make up for it. Thank you all for your support, it will always mean a lot to me. Also, the song was recommended by a friend, so this WAS NOT INTENTIONAL! The lyrics just fit really well for some reason, but no complaints. Thank you again, and with that Author-chan out!*
