The following days pass in a somber haze. Zayn's decision has cast a heavy shadow over the group, and each member is processing it in their own way. Niall and Liam, usually so full of energy and optimism, are visibly heartbroken, their smiles fading, their spirits dimmed. Alex does her best to spend as much time as she can with Zayn, knowing that every moment they share now is fleeting, precious.

The weight of the farewell hangs over everything as the inevitable day arrives—the day when Zayn officially leaves. The group gathers, emotions raw and unfiltered, their faces etched with the sadness of the moment. There's a heaviness in the air that none of them can escape, as if the end of an era has arrived far too soon.

Alex is the first to step forward. Her heart aches as she walks to him, and before she can say anything, she pulls Zayn into a tight, desperate hug. She clings to him, unable to stop the tears that start streaming down her face. "I'll miss you so much, Zayn," she whispers, her voice thick with emotion. "You... you've been like a brother to me."

Zayn's hands tremble as he wraps his arms around her, holding her close. He pulls back slightly, wiping a tear from her cheek with the pad of his thumb. His voice is soft but steady. "You're strong, Alex. You're going to do amazing things. Thank you for always having my back."

Niall steps forward next, his usual cheerfulness lost in the grief he's holding inside. His voice cracks as he speaks. "I'm gonna miss you, mate. You... you were my best friend here."

The two of them embrace, and Alex watches as silent tears slip down their faces, both of them carrying the weight of the years they've spent together.

Liam follows, and when he speaks, his voice is barely audible, thick with the weight of his emotions. "You'll always be a part of this, Zayn. No matter where you go."

Zayn nods, his throat tight. "Thank you, Liam. I won't forget any of you."

Harry and Louis linger at the back, their faces unreadable, the silence between them almost palpable. But after a long pause, Louis takes a step forward, his voice rough with barely contained anger and hurt. "I can't say I understand this, Zayn. But... take care of yourself."

Zayn meets his gaze, the regret in his eyes clear. He opens his mouth, then hesitates before speaking quietly. "I'm sorry, Louis. I really am."

Harry doesn't say a word. He simply nods, his eyes avoiding Zayn's, a silent farewell that speaks volumes. The tension in the room feels like a weight pressing down on them all, but Zayn doesn't push. He's made his decision, and all he can do now is hold onto the bond they shared, no matter how painful the parting may be.

The goodbye is not the closure they all wanted, but in some way, it's the one they needed. Zayn walks away, the door to this chapter of their lives closing slowly behind him, and Alex is left with a feeling that nothing will ever be the same again.
