It started with a seed
then it grew up to be a tree
Now it stands alone, its' roots are stuck to the floor
It wishes to move but fate has been cruel to the poor tree
"I am doomed to live alone, forever glued to the ground" the tree says
It tried to move a million times but it was only left to disappointment
Within time the tree began to hunch. It never really looked at things the same again.
The seed was buried to the ground, it began to sprout
A joyful young twig grew from the ground, it began spreading its' branches
Smiles and laughter fell from the branches as it saw itself grow but then one day it came to realize that it was stuck to the ground.
Years passed and scars were left behind. Kids engraved foul words in its' bark.
Hearts and Initials stabbed everywhere. But it couldn't move. There wasn't a day when the tree was left alone.
Leaves were falling everywhere, the tree slouched to the point were it was called The Weeping Tree.
Every person who passed the tree would say how ugly it looked
"I wish I could sleep forever, if only someone could come and cut my life short." the tree said as it hunched a bit more.
Everyday seemed the same. The sun seemed to be there just to rise and fall counting the days the tree had left.
Then one night fate decided to be nice to the poor tree.
A young girl passed by. The tree expected her to be like everybody else.
Then she said, "What a beautiful tree." as she walked around it to see the scars left behind from the others.
"Yeah yeah I'm ugly I get it." The tree said then stopped and realized she had said it was beautiful.
"You think I'm beautiful?" it said
She smiled and replied, "There is no such thing as perfection and those who pretend are just in denial about the way things work. I'm not going to lie to you and say you're the most beautiful creature I've ever seen because the truth is out of a million there has to be more. You're beautiful because I see something others don't see"
"And what is that?" it said.
"I see that you have a soul." she says
"That doesn't make sense doesn't everyone have a soul?" it replies in confusement
"No. Not when they go around imitating everything around."
"Ahh I see" it said.
They spend the whole night talking. The girl would go to the same spot everyday to visit the tree. She was falling inlove but then one day she arrived and found a stump.
The lumberjack cut the tree down. The tree had hoped to die but it didn't mean it.
Sometimes life is cut short. Sometimes people say things they don't mean. And when happiness comes around the corner fate decides to take it all away.
We just have to come to realize that maybe not every story gets a happy ending.
