Unexpectedly Yours (Sonadow)

Prologue

The rain poured in relentless sheets, soaking Station Square under a dark moonless sky. Amy ran through the streets, her red raincoat flapping behind her like a cape as she clutched her umbrella tightly, doing nothing against the storm.

She had heard about this shop from Cream, which had brought it up as a passing joke about its "magical charms and offerings." The pink hedgehog wasn't sure if she believed the rumors. The store was hidden in a forgotten alley, after all.

"Curios and Remedies." Amy whispered to herself as she read the wooden sign atop the door and then glanced at the flickering lantern beside it. She hesitated before finally reaching for the door and going in. "Just a peek."

A bell chimed softly as she went in. Behind the counter stood an old cloaked cat, her fur silvery with age. "Amy Rose." The cat said to her in a low and raspy voice. "I knew you'd find your way here eventually."

Amy looked at the woman, slowly taking a few steps closer as she made sure not to bumped into any of the fragile looking shelves. "You know me?" The hero asked.

"You seek the Love Potion, for your special someone." The woman smiled.

Amy's muzzle turned a bright shade of pink. "Well it's complicated." The hero stopped. She could picture Sonic in her mind, that carefree smile she fell in love with. "I just need him to see me. To see us."

The cat turned and looked on the shelves behind her, finally opening a locked cabinet underneath and grabbing what the pink hedgehog wasn't looking for. The hedgehogs smile widened in excitement and quickly placed a handful of rings in the counter, more than enough for the potion.

"Are you really sure you want to do this, this potion will only -" The hedgehog interrupted once the cat placed the potion in front of her and did the exchange.

"I'm sure." Amy tucked the potion into her coat and stepped back into the storm, leaving the woman concerned.

"Good luck, Sonic the Hedgehog." The woman whispered as she proceeded to sit back on her chair.

Amy finally had the potion, but was she truly going to use it?
