A/N: This is part 1 of Luffy and Hancock's Wedding and is the build up to the wedding day. Luffy and Hancock's wedding was requested on Ao3 by QLB3 and on here by rohit_mehta_3951.

I am almost done with part 2 which will focus on the wedding day and a little after, but I keep rewriting and editing it. This request was harder to write than I thought it would be because I didn't want Luffy and Hancock to be too OOC. This has almost 10,000 words so hopefully the length makes up (somewhat) for the long wait since I've last updated this series.

As the moon cast a silvery glow over Amazon Lily, Boa Hancock stood on the balcony of her palace, her gaze lost in the distance. The quiet of the night couldn't soothe the turmoil that churned within her-a mix of longing and frustration that had grown too familiar in recent weeks. Below, the island lay tranquil, but the peaceful scene did little to calm her restless heart.

"I just want to be with him, to be married to him," Hancock murmured, her voice a wistful whisper carried away by the sea breeze.

From behind her in her room, her sisters, Mari and Sonia, exchanged concerned glances before approaching. "Sister, you must be patient," Sonia said gently, placing a comforting hand on Hancock's shoulder. "Luffy is still training, and you know how important that is to him."

Mari nodded in agreement, her tone optimistic. "And think of the joy that awaits you. This time apart will only make your reunion sweeter."

But Hancock's gaze remained distant, her mind replaying every moment spent with Luffy during their trip to and from Marineford. "I understand that... but why does it have to be so complicated? I just want to be married to him and even be his girlfriend if that's what it takes."

Her words hung in the air, a testament to her confusion about the roles and labels that seemed to define relationships-a concept she still grappled with despite her feelings.

At that moment, Elder Nyon joined the trio, having overheard Hancock's confession. Her voice was soft but carried an undercurrent of sternness. "Snake Princess, do you even fully grasp what marriage means? One moment you claim to be his fiancée, the next his wife, then his girlfriend. It's not just about titles; it's about understanding the commitments they entail."

Hancock turned to face her, frustration evident in her eyes. "I know I love him, that should be enough to make him understand."

Nyon shook her head as she pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation. "Love is vital, but understanding the depth of what it means to share a life with someone is just as important. You need to learn what marriage really involves. It's more than a title; it's a partnership, a commitment to stand by each other through every challenge and joy."

Hancock's expression softened slightly, the weight of Nyon's words settling in her mind. "But how am I to learn these things if I am here and here is there?" she asked, a genuine trace of helplessness in her voice.

Nyon considered this for a moment, her expression more sympathetic. "There are many ways to understand the essence of commitment, even from a distance. You can start by really listening to what Luffy says about his dreams, his fears, and his hopes. Communication is the foundation of any strong relationship."

Hancock's frustration bubbled up again, her need to be near Luffy clashing with the wisdom being offered. "But he's so close, on Rusukaina. I could just be there, with him. We could be learning together!"

Nyon sighed deeply, understanding Hancock's longing but emphasizing the bigger picture. "Remember, Luffy is undergoing important training that requires his full focus. Your presence there might distract him, potentially affecting his progress. Love also means respecting each other's paths, even when those paths require some distance."
