Parrot and Wifies were exhausted after they traveled millions of blocks to reach the Far lands, but they weren't quite there yet. Parrot dropped to the ground and laid on his back, spreading his arms and legs like he would make a snow angel in the green grass.
" From here. Just forward. " He exhaled and Wifies chuckled. " Do you have any food left? Im starving. " parrot asked and sat up, watching Wifies as he took out something from his pocket. " Here, have this " He handed Parrot his leftovers.
He smiled happily and set the compass on the ground, then he took a bite out of the food. " Hey, would you mind if I looked at the compass? " asked Wifies and Parrot nodded. Wifies was about to bend down to grab it when Parrot took it and handed it to him.
Wifies turned around with the compass in his hand and smashed it on a rock with all his strength. Parrots jaw fell open and he almost choked on the food. He immediately jumped to his feet, forgetting about the leftover which fell and now were on the ground.
" Wifies. Please tell me that was a fake compass. " He placed his hand on the other's shoulder and Wifies turned around, shaking his head. " No, parrot " Parrots eyes widened. " Why did you do that?.. " he place a hand on his other shoulder and shook him but wifies brushed one of his hands off of him and held the other.
" we're not going to the Far lands. ..You.. are not going to the Far lands. " " Yes, we are. " Parrot snatched his hand away from wifies touch. " That's why we started this whole thing.. the journ-"
Wifies shook his head. " No. No no. We're not going there. Whats gonna happen there is we're gonna get roped up in a war and chances are one of us is gonna die. " He took a pause. " ..that ..you might die.. "
" that's why we're going. " Parrot said firmly and Wifies looked at Parrot in disbelief. " To die? To- To kill ourselves??" He lightly raised his voice. " Not everything is about us. " parrot looked at the shatters of what used to be the compass and crouched down, trying to see if it could be saved in any way.
" tell me why you want to throw yourself in a war that is not yours. " Wifies took a step closer to parrot. " Just for you to die?.. "
" it is my war. " Parrot rose up from the ground and turned to Wifies. " How is it yours? " he asked and Parrot took a step closer to him. " I have friends.. Who died by the mafia. "
In a cold harsh tone, wifies said. " And who's gonna remember them when you're dead? " Parrots eyes widened and he stayed quiet, speechless. The silence around them was heavy and tense but then Wifies continued. " If you go there. Someone else is raising that Allay. " he pointed at the blue mob that was flying around parrot.
Parrot couldn't help but stare at the ground.. Debating whether.. maybe.. Wifies had a point.. Then he saw the compass again. " Is it seriously the real one? " He raised his view to look at Wifies. " what, do I look like I'm joking? " He said in a serious tone.
" I don't know. " Parrots hands grabbed his own hair. " We traveled.. 9.25 million blocks out. " He let it go. " yeah. " wifies agreed. " You're actually... We made it all this way.. And you just burn the only thing that's leading us there? " Parrot raised his voice.
" Are you hearing what I'm saying? " " Yes Im hea- " Wifies grabbed Parrots shoulders tightly. " You're gonna get yourself killed if you go there. " he slightly loosened his grip. " And Im not.. Gonna sit by and watch as you throw yourself in a battle that's not yours, just so you can die. "
" Then whats the alterative? "
" Not- not fighting.. " Wifies expression softened.
" and doing what? "
" Surviving, living. "
" where? "
"Anywhere but there. "
" Nowhere is safe. "
" They cant find us without Dean. "
" so what you're saying is, we run away, abandoned the mission and go settle down somewhere random for the rest of time? Is that what you're saying? "
" Im saying we settle there until.. Further notice. Until this blows over. " Wifies let Parrot go.
Parrot spun around and walked for a bit. " I still cant believe you shattered the compass. " Parrot barrier his face in his hands.
" Im keeping you alive. " Wifies voice cracked and when he heard it, he took a step back, realizing how much Parrot meant to him..
" You do realize that regardless if I have the compass or not, Im still going to go. That's one fundamental problem in your so called 'genius plan' of yours. " he stared at Wifies.
" Do you not understand that you're killing yoursel- what is it going to take- why cant you realize that you're killing yourself for no reason? The righteousness you get out of fighting this battle isn't going to bring anyone back, its gonna get you killed and what does that leave me and Dean? "
" I promised Luigi that I'm going to go to the Far lands " Parrot started and Wifies let out a silent 'oh my god', his face full with disbelief. " Im gonna organize a rebellion and actually do something against the mafia because if we don't do something, do you know what happens? "
Parrot started walking away. " We die anyways. " He took a deep breath. " So Im going, because I told Luigi I would. "
" Parrot, He's dead. Luigi is dead. " Wifies stepped closer. " What is it going to- Do I have to die like him for you to believe me? For you to care about what Im saying? Is that what its going to take for you to listen? "
He shook his head and turned around, walking towards Wifies before pushing past him and walking towards a hill.
" I know I cant stop you, but I'm asking you for once in your life to be.. A little bit selfish.. "
Parrot took out the spyglass he had in his pocket and threw it at the ground and landed in front of Wifies feet, before he continued walking away.
Wifies looked at the spyglass, the glass was cracked and he bent down and picked it up before lifting his view to parrot.
" Wait! " He shouted as he ran towards him. When he got to him he grabbed his hand, forcing him to turn around. With his free hand he placed it on Parrots cheek before leaning in and kissing him.
Parrots eyes widened, he was in total surprise. He returned the kiss right as it was about to end and they pulled apart. " Please.. " Wifies was out of breath from both the running and the kiss.
" Put yourself first, Parrot.. Please listen to me.. I only want whats best for you.. "
