Both sisters had pulled themselves through the window seal with ease. Mykayla started walking in a straight line towards the forest line, not thinking twice about waiting for Thomas. He would find his way, she reasoned. Luna, on the other hand, was uncomfortably moving in her place. Of course, Luna would want them to wait for each other, but Mykayla was done with this town. She pulled her little sister with her, who kept looking back every few steps.

"Myka, we should wait," Luna muttered.

"He's a big boy, Luna. Stop caring so much about people and start caring about yourself. Your safety is more important and standing in a lit street at night isn't safe. Especially not for us," Mykayla said, while she kept making her way towards the forest.

Luna might feel bad for leaving the farmer behind, but Mykayla didn't. Chances were slim that anyone would arrest him.

They were out of town, walking up the northern hill with the outstretched meadows when Luna's phone pinged. Without hesitation, Luna halted and pulled out her white smartphone.

"It's Thomas," Luna's voice hitched.

Mykayla noticed the sudden change right away. "What's he saying?"

It felt like a shockwave coming from her little sister, a current lighting her warning radars to their highest extent. She grabbed Luna's phone out of her hand, there was no resistance. She read the message that took her sister by surprise. The blue device cracked in her tightened hand.

Mykayla's heart stopped beating for a minute. Her knees wobbled under her feet and her body turned cold and mushy for a single second, and then her heart started beating erratically. This was it, the moment everything would change.

"We didn't even have to lure the little bird, it came to us." A devilish smile creeping up her face.

Her eyes turned back to Home and fixated on the lit up police station in the distance. Slowly she turned to her sister who was still frozen in place. A mortified expression accompanied by a sickening paleness had crept Luna's usually blushed face. The contradiction was painfully clear and it only made Mykayla's blood boil even stronger. She was going to get her revenge on that sick bastard.

No one hurts my sister, she thought angrily before speaking in a completely opposite tone: "Don't worry, little sis, I'm taking him down tonight. You stay here, and I'll be right back. I'll make sure to break his nose for touching you and Vanessa."

Perhaps even a few other bones as well, but she didn't add that last bit.

Not waiting for a reaction from her semi-in-shock sister, she dropped the phone to the ground and sprinted in the direction of the police station.

This was going to be fun!
