Another Message From Destiny
An e-mail arrived the other day
And I read with sadness what it had to say
Another friend from years gone by had passed
I found his number and made the call
He barely remembered me at all
And I knew right then there'd be no Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Twelve people, fifty years close friends
Now just two, awaiting what portends
Holding many memories we couldn't share
There's nothing left to say at all
A last goodbye, I end the call
His days now ending in a home of care
No Hallelujah, No Hallelujah
No Hallelu-u-j-ah
Now no one's left to commiserate
A few old photos to contemplate
It's how life goes, there's nothing we can do, ya
But I'm not marking any date
So sorry fate, you'll have to wait
And from my heart I'm shouting Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelu-u-j-ah
