Maple High's boys freshman basketball team gathers in the locker room just before the last game of the season - they've remained undefeated, though their greatest competition, Oak High, has always come close to winning.

Pranav, in his jersey, rocks back and forth on the balls of his feet, hyped, ready for the game.

Oliver stands up in front of the four other boys - it helps that he's at least a foot taller than the rest - before exclaiming, "All right boys. Last game. Let's drive those babies into the ground." The pale teen has never been that great at speeches.

The four other boys cheer. However, you can sense the tension... If you know where to look...

As soon as Pranav gets home, he sprints to his room, slamming the door behind him, before sinking to the floor, dialing Danny's number, his hand shaking. He definitely didn't expect to lose, but that loss. It was humiliating.

"Pranav," the cheery voice cuts through the air, "what's up?" And that's when everything starts to pour out. Pranav, starting to sob, tells his friend everything, from that fight over the summer to that most recent game, everything, except for how warm he felt around Trevor.

"Pranav, e-" Danny's sentence is cut off by someone unknown to Pranav.

"Looks like someone is overrea-YOW!" the male cries in pain.

"Jeez Nate, you're so insensitive," Danny scolds the other person, whose name Pranav has deduced, Nate.

"Anyways, Pranav, if you're worried about your relationship with Trevor, just talk to him," Danny counsels.

"Thanks, Danny, maybe I'll actually listen for once," Pranav smiles weakly, taking his friend's advice to heart.
