"Big game coming up?" Danny questions his friend, mussing up Trevor's horribly cut blond hair - he had gotten the most obnoxious buzz cut the previous school year.
"Yup, the final game of the season," the teenager responds, "and we're going up Maple High. You know that they've defeated us in the championship for the past three yea-"
"Calm down Trev," the other kid tries to reason, "we're only freshmen."
"Danny," Trevor whines.
Danny sighs, "Isn't our friend on the Maple High team. Pranav?"
"PRANAV!?" the boy shrieks, his blue eyes wide with horror. I know Danny moved near the end of the school year last year. But he doesn't know that Pranav and I had a falling out...
Danny squints his eyes at him like he knows something's up.
Unbeknownst to the duo, there's a girl their age looking at them.
The girl fixates her dark brown eyes on Trevor before giggling, "Oh Trevor, you'll regret breaking up with me. I am the only girl you will ever love. I'll make sure of it."
Before leaving, the girl tapes her signature violet heart on the window, her way of showing she was there, watching.
