The celebrations had wound down, and the grand hall of the castle was quiet once more. The flickering light from the torches cast long shadows on the stone walls, and the air was filled with a serene stillness. Ava stood by one of the tall windows, looking out over the moonlit landscape of Doreperth. The sense of peace she felt was tinged with an undercurrent of uncertainty—she knew that her time here was drawing to a close.

As if sensing her thoughts, King Emanvadrin approached her, his footsteps soft on the polished floor. He came to stand beside her, his presence comforting yet commanding. For a moment, they both looked out at the night together, the silence between them filled with unspoken understanding.

"Ava," the King began, his voice gentle but firm, "you have done more for this land than you can know. You have brought light to the darkest corners of Michrinor, and for that, we are all in your debt."

Ava turned to face him, her expression thoughtful. "It's hard to believe it's over," she admitted. "There were times when I didn't think I'd make it."

The King smiled, a hint of pride in his eyes. "You have a strength within you, Ava, one that few possess. But as much as you have found your place here, your journey is not yet complete."

Ava's brow furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean?"

The King's expression grew more serious. "There are people in your earthly world who need you, just as you were needed here. Your family, your friends—there are lives you can touch, hearts you can heal. The path ahead may not be easy, and it may be filled with challenges and heartbreak. But you have already proven that you can face whatever comes your way."

Ava felt a pang of sadness at the thought of leaving Michrinor. This world had become a part of her, and the idea of returning to her old life felt almost foreign. "But what if... what if I'm not ready?" she asked, the vulnerability in her voice evident.

The King placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "No one is ever truly ready for the journey life sets before them. But you carry with you the lessons you've learned here, the love and courage that have guided you. You are stronger than you know, Ava, and no matter what lies ahead, you will find your way."

He paused, then added with a twinkle in his eye, "And remember, while there may be no place in Michrinor where you aren't welcome, the Swamps of Coden might not be your ideal vacation spot."

Ava couldn't help but laugh at the unexpected humor, the tension in her chest easing just a little. "I'll keep that in mind," she said with a grin.

The King's smile softened. "You will always have a place here, Ava. Whenever you need to return, the door will be open, and we will be waiting with open arms. But for now, your path leads you back to your earthly family. They need you as much as we did."

Ava nodded, the reality of his words sinking in. "Thank you, Your Majesty," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. "For everything."

King Emanvadrin inclined his head in a gesture of respect. "Thank you, Ava, for bringing hope back to this land. Go now, with the knowledge that you are never truly alone. We will be with you, always."

With that, the King turned and walked away, leaving Ava alone with her thoughts. She looked out the window once more, the stars twinkling above, and felt a sense of resolve settle within her. Her journey was far from over, but she was ready to face whatever came next.

As the time for her departure drew nearer, Ava found herself standing alone in the quiet courtyard of the castle, the weight of her decision pressing heavily on her heart. She had faced countless challenges in Michrinor, battled darkness, and uncovered truths she never imagined, but this—this was perhaps the hardest thing she had ever had to do. The thought of leaving behind the companions who had become her family was almost unbearable.
