Hello! Here is the long awaited (by me) information filled chapter. I have decided to close Glow Magazine on November 30th. I know that seems far away, but I honestly haven't received as many applications as I expected so I'll leave it until the end of the month. Although, I will be building the cast before then, but nothing will be official until it has closed. Once the deadline is a week out, I will respond to any unfinished forms, so don't worry too much about forgetting!
Next, a lot of the applications have been columnists-which is amazing and I love them all- so i would love to see some characters that aren't working your typical job within Glow. I think there is an opportunity for some really fun character creation. So, if you are stuck on picking a concept for your character (we've all be there), I have put some ideas that I would love to see in the fic below, so feel free to take inspiration from them! The faceclaim lists are short, sorry in advance, but if you want more, please don't be afraid to ask!
Suggestion/Concepts:
❁ The Over-Achieving Intern: Enthusiastic and driven, they're always the first to arrive and the last to leave, fueled by endless cups of coffee and the dream of making it big. They're a people-pleaser to the core, trying to charm everyone from the CEO to the janitor. While their optimism is contagious, it sometimes blinds them to the realities of the high-pressure publishing world. When things go wrong, they're prone to spiraling into overthinking and self-doubt. Despite this, their determination and adaptability make them a rising star.
Faceclaim Ideas: Cailee Spaeny, Dylan O'Brien, Emma Mackey, Chase Sui Wonders, Tom Blythe
❁ The Seasoned Editor: Calm, collected, and impossibly wise, they're the office's rock, unshaken by tight deadlines or heated arguments. They carry an air of authority that makes everyone instinctively listen when they speak. While they can be brutally honest, they're also a quiet supporter of the younger staff, nudging them toward their potential. Beneath their composed exterior is a well of untold stories and a longing for a slower, simpler life.
Faceclaim Ideas: Rami Malek, Florence Pugh, Callum Turner (!), Bruna Marquezine
❁ The Brooding Illustrator: Quiet, intense, and deeply introspective, they exude a mysterious vibe that intrigues and intimidates others. Their art is their escape, filled with raw emotion and hidden messages that reveal more about them than their words ever could. They struggle with expressing their feelings and often come across as standoffish, but those who break through their walls discover a fiercely loyal and empathetic soul.
Faceclaim Ideas: Emma Corrin, Drew Starkey, Simone Ashley, Archie Renaux, Sophie Thatcher
❁ The Networking Publicist: Charming, quick-witted, and endlessly resourceful, they have a natural ability to make everyone feel like the most important person in the room. They thrive on social energy, juggling countless connections and events without breaking a sweat. Beneath their polished exterior, they battle burnout and a fear of losing their relevance in such a competitive field.
Faceclaim Ideas: Madelyn Cline, Evan Mock, Alisha Boe, Jacob Elordi, Jonathan Daviss
❁ The Quirky IT Specialist: Endearingly eccentric and unapologetically themselves, they bring a touch of chaos to the otherwise polished Glow office. They're the go-to for tech emergencies, often fixing issues with a creative flair that leaves others scratching their heads. They have a playful, offbeat humor that lightens the mood during tense moments but can be surprisingly insightful when it counts.
Faceclaim Ideas: Xolo Maridueña, Hannah Dodd, Dominic Fike, Maia Reficco
❁ The Wisecracking Accountant: Equal parts dry humor and meticulous precision, they balance the books with the same care they use to deliver perfectly-timed one-liners. They're pragmatic and skeptical, often rolling their eyes at the more artistic types in the office. Beneath their tough exterior is someone who values stability and kindness, and they'll always be there to lend a hand when someone needs them (even if they pretend to be annoyed about it).
Faceclaim Ideas: Mike Faist, Alexa Demie, Dev Patel, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Anya Taylor-Joy
