Chapter 2

Liam

"Wake up," Ethan says. Ethan is my adoptive brother and Noah is my non-identical twin brother.

"What is your problem, I am exhausted from a half-day of schoolwork," Noah says yawning and hitting Ethan on his back.

"I don't know how you are going to survive the rest of the school year it's only the first day of school," says Antony.

"First day of JUNIOR year, you mean," Cam says.

"He will survive once you stop demotivating him," says Millie sitting on a chair having just come from getting food.

"And with a proper schedule and plan, he will make it just fine without your dad trying to kill him after all the bad grades last year" And there is Emma.

Antony Miller, Cam Frost, Emma Walker, and Millie or Mildred Woods have been our friends forever we are five prestige families of Elkavor. Miller's the royal family of land, Frost's the royal family of Air, Walker's the royal family of fire, and Wood's the royal family of Water. The last family is the Browns Noah Brown, Ethan Brown, and me, Liam Brown. The Browns are the royal family of all four elements the highest in magic and politics. Our Dad is the King of Elkavor. Since the Walkers, Millers, Walkers, and Woods give the highest donations to our school, Oakwood Academy, and the Browns who own the school the houses in our school have been named after the five prestige families. Except for all the students we are the only ones who have been assigned to a class according to our names. The rest of the students get assigned according to which element they fit into the most. If they have a bit of each element they are assigned to the Browns house. Our House has the least number of people since not many students have all the elements.

And I make sure their life is like a living hell if they cross me, my brothers, or my friends. If I could control the other houses then it could be the same but since I can't I will take of the people in my house.

"So, how are your brothers Tony and Mil?" I ask Antony and Millie. Both of them have brothers who are two years older than them, Edward Miller and Jack Woods. They graduated last semester and have been in politics since. Cal and Emma have siblings, too, Charlotte Frost and Henry Walker, but both of them are four years younger than them.

"He is fine" They both say it in sync

"Hey Ann, how are your classes so far" Millie asks Annie

"Good, but exhausting," she says yanking her bag off

Annie, Annie Woods is Millie's half-sister, two years younger. Millie's mom passed away when she was born. Her dad got married a year later, it was an arranged marriage to keep the throne.

"Who is that girl?" Noah asks looking toward a girl that neither of us has ever seen. She has long thick black hair up to her waist. And is wearing the Oakwood Academy uniform, the white shirt, the black vest not buttoned up, and the black skirt up to her thighs.

"She is a scholarship student," Annie says

Every year our school accepts two scholarship students and I am guessing she is one of them.

"Oh, I and Mil met her in one of the classes today," Emma says chewing her pizza.

"Oh yeah she was and she is in our homeroom class too,"

I wouldn't know anything that happened in homeroom because I was in our suite practicing a spell. We have our private suite in the school to relax and do whatever we want.

"I am going to introduce myself to her," I announce standing up from my chair.

I walk towards her table where she is sitting in a group of people but not paying attention to them and eating by herself. The whole cafeteria notices e walking towards and so does she. She stands up with her tray. I look into her eyes, they are dark as a void, and I can't stop looking into them.

"What do you want?" she asks, and I realize that I have been staring.

"I always like to introduce myself to new kids," I say sarcastically.

"Oh, I don't need an introduction to know who you are. I have been hearing about you ever since I stepped foot into this school" she replies with the same sarcasm which irritates me.

"Funny that you know who I am, but I don't know who you are"

"I am Ava, Ava Tyler"

"Well listen talk back again to me I will show you how dangerous my magic and I am," I say to her giving her my scariest look.

"You think you can harm me just because I am a scholarship student and I am sure my magic is 10 times stronger and dangerous than yours,"

"Don't be so full of yourself," I tell her.

"Why are you scared I will beat you? After all, I got here based on my magic, unlike you who is here due to his daddy's money and his power," Her sarcastic reply has me fuming and all I want to do is destroy.

"Well don't blame me if your life becomes too difficult to survive or the fact that I didn't warn," I tell her and then leave before she can reply.

A few hours later I am home after the whole chaos that took place in the cafeteria. All my friends and Brothers were impressed by her attitude to talk back despite knowing who I was and then made fun of me. After that, I didn't attend any of the classes and was in the suite and came home when the school day ended to avoid my dad's questions. Now I am sitting alone in my living room because I didn't wanna go to a party with my friends and my brother. I might go later

"Hey Li, how was the first of school?" Dad asks coming into the living room and sitting in one of the empty seats.

"It was fine." I didn't mention that I was in the suite the whole time.

"Good, I was worried. But I did want to talk to you alone something Li" Li is my dad's nickname for me, he is the only one who calls me that.

"About what," I ask starting to get worried.

"About the Thompsons,Dreadmoor"
