He stood there feelings helpless and useless he couldn't save her.....how will he live now... without her....

He felt like it was hard to breath suddenly all the air sucked out from his lungs he felt his throat go dry and

Just when Abhinav thought he lost her the syren of fire brigade was heard and fire fighters jumped off

Abhinav rushed towards them the flicker of hope reignited "my wife.... she's inside..save her please" he managed to choke out

He followed them as they made their way inside the venue finding Ruhi on the verge of passing out she was standing at the corner at the last stair of staircase Abhinav rushed to her and held her the moment her eyes closed and her legs gave up

Her face was pale and her cheeks were strained with tears she was burned at several spots he picked her up and carried her outside in his arms his own pain forgotten

The ambulance was ready and she was immediately taken to hospital Abhinav and Rahi sat beside her in the ambulance

"Ruhi" Abhinav called her name but no response

"Ruhi please..... please just...just don't leave me" he begged his voice hoarse mere whisper which was barely auidble

Ruhi's eyes fluttered open she closed them again and then opened them but not fully it looked like she was really putting so much effort to keep her eyes open

"Abhi...Abhinav" she managed to  whisper

"Yes? I'm here" he replied instantly on the verge of bursting into tears

"I..i..I love you...Abhi...Abhinav" she said with so much difficult her voice was barely auidble but enough for Abhinav to hear

He freezed and her eyes fluttered close again

"Ruhi?....Ruhi please.. Ruhi?" Abhinav chanted her name but she didn't open her eyes this time

He sat there staring at her pale face and closed eyes how much he longed to hear these three words from her

How much he waited but never ever he imagined that she would say them in this condition He didn't realise when the single tear rolled off his cheek and fell onto her cheek

He brushed the tear away gently with his thumb. Rahi sat there silently witnessing everything her own eyes filled with tears

The rest of the family was in other cars following the ambulance she was taken into emergency ward and her treatment started immediately

Everyone's eyes were fixed on the door of the ward praying silently for her recovery Abhinav sat there motionless on the bench staring at infinity blaming himself for not being able to save her

The moments he spent with her played as a flashback in his mind suddenly his phone buzzed Indicating a notification he looked at his side where the phone was kept on the bench he didn't read the notification

But his eyes remained fixed on the screen...on the wallpaper...of her and his photo that she took on the night when they both went on a late night long drive 

He stared at the screen untill it turned black again his eyes welled up again when he remembered the moments spent with her

Her smile....how her eyes used to shine when she was happy.....how messily she ate....her cheeks...which used to turn red whenever he went close to her or complimented her
