Estelle Veyra stepped off the Hogwarts Express, her boots crunching against the gravel. The air carried a chill that matched her mood. New school, new faces, new rules. She had told herself she didn’t care what people thought, but the second she caught the stares—curious, wary, judgmental—she knew it wasn’t going to be easy.

“Another transfer?” a drawling voice murmured.

Her sharp gaze flicked to the source—a platinum-haired boy leaning lazily against the train. His cold gray eyes studied her like she was a puzzle he wasn’t sure was worth solving.

“And you are?” she asked, her tone sharp enough to slice through his arrogance.

“Draco Malfoy.” He straightened up, brushing imaginary dust off his robes. “You’re not from around here, are you?”

“Brilliant observation,” she shot back.

A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, but the amusement in his eyes was fleeting. "You'll find Hogwarts isn't kind to people who don't belong."

Estelle raised an eyebrow. "Good thing I’ve never cared about kindness."

Draco blinked, as though thrown off by her retort, before his smirk deepened. "We'll see how long you last."
