Chapter 4: (Story 2: The Complacency of the Rich Fool)
The three archangels stood before Rona in the throne room of Babylon, ensuring she grasped the lesson of Nebuchadnezzar's pride.
"Well done, Rona," Michael said. "You have begun to understand the dangers of pride."
Raphael's wings swept forward, and Rona felt herself transported to a lush vineyard, where a wealthy merchant celebrated his riches.
Gabriel then added, "Now, witness the complacency of the Rich Fool. May his story teach you the value of spiritual richness."
With that, the archangels vanished, leaving Rona alone in the midst of a lush vineyard. Before her stood a wealthy merchant, boasting of his riches.
"I have stored up riches for many years, I have no need of anything," the merchant declared.
Rona watched, unnoticed, as the merchant's life unfolded. She saw his focus on wealth consume him, ignoring the needs of others and neglecting his own soul.
Suddenly, Rona felt herself becoming the merchant. She experienced his every thought and emotion, his every triumph and failure.
As the merchant, Rona reveled in her wealth, indulging in lavish feasts and extravagant purchases. She dismissed the poor and marginalized, believing they were beneath her.
But as time passed, Rona began to feel a growing sense of emptiness. Despite her riches, she felt isolated and unfulfilled. Her relationships were shallow, and her wealth brought no lasting joy.
One day, a severe storm ravaged the vineyard, destroying Rona's crops and livelihood. She begged for help, but her wealth couldn't save her.
As the merchant's world crumbled, Rona realized too late that true wealth lies in spiritual richness, not material possessions.
"This night, your soul will be required of you," a voice declared, echoing the words of the Rich Fool's story.
Rona's spirit trembled as she faced the consequences of her complacency. Alone, she pondered the lessons of the Rich Fool, her heart heavy with regret.
In the darkness, Rona cried out, "Lord, have mercy on me! I've been blind to what truly matters."
The silence that followed was oppressive, until finally, a faint whisper replied, "Your cry has been heard, Rona. But will you learn from your mistakes?"
Rona's journey continued, as she struggled to find redemption and understanding in the midst of her suffering.
