Marly's pov---

Damn.. did I ruin it? I didn't mean to rub off as rude. I tried to apologize but she returned the same nasty attitude I gave her earlier. If she wanted to play that game, we can play. I walked out of the locker room right behind her since the martial arts room was right next to wherever she was headed. It looked like the volleyball court and by the way she was dressed I'm sure I was right.

The way she walked was mesmerizing. The way her body looked in those spandex was everything. Who was she? I didn't have time to get answers to my questions because just as soon as I picked up my pace to try apologizing again she reached the gym and Josh dragged me into the martial arts space.

"You ready?", ready as I ever could be. I met Josh a week before I moved to RPHS. He was here the day of my orientation and since he was a part of the martial arts team he was assigned my new trainer and tour guide.

Don't get me wrong I know nothing about jj or kickboxing but it was the closest I could get to boxing, and seeing him practice and be skilled in many different areas, he was damn good. We started with our basics, warm ups, stretching, shadowboxing, and wrapping my hands.

He had never personally trained a boxer but he got the hang of it pretty quick. "So did you think about it?" he asked as he grabbed the pads. Think about what? my mind was all over today I was genuinely confused. "Yk? the club?" I had been training with Josh for a week and the last two times he had mentioned a underground fight club.

"Josh I can't. yk that". It's not that I didn't want to, it was the fact it was illegal. The whole reason I moved to ridge point was to start a new life after I got off of probation. My aunt would kill me if she found out I got into some fucked up scheme again. "Marly you need the money, we both know that." He wasn't wrong.

My aunt only took me in because she was the only family I had left after my mom passed. Work wasn't paying me well at all and the "side hustle's" I acquired wasn't the best thing. "There's a fight tonight and we need a fill in, just let me know by 8 and I promise you won't regret it. It's easy money and an easy win".

-----------------------

We finished up training and I headed out to the parking lot to drive home. I threw my bag on the back of my motorcycle and began to climb on, but before I slid my helmet on I spotted a familiar figure across the parking lot. It was Josh. He was standing over who looked to be the short girl I talked to in the locker room. I still felt bad.

I'm not sure what was going on across the parking lot but I could hear Josh and her exchange a few heated words before he got into the car with what seemed to be a younger girl and pulled off, leaving her standing there. It was only a few seconds before she noticed me and started walking towards me. Please don't tell me she was about to bitch at me about earlier. I really was sorry.

I started to speak as she approached me "Listen I'm really sorry abou-" "It's fine. Do you know how to get to the bus?" So I was right. Josh did leave her alone. What a jerk. I hope she wasn't his girlfriend because that was just wrong. "No, I don't. But I can take you home if you'd like?" I'm not sure what I said wrong but I knew it was something because she furrowed her eyebrows and quickly declined. "No thanks, I'll just go."

Go where? "Hey not to be rude but what happened over there?" I didn't wanna seem like a weirdo asking but she seemed upset and this was the perfect opportunity to show her I wasn't some rude bitch. "My brother happened." Josh was her brother? What was he doing leaving her like that. I'm sure she could tell I was confused because she quickly finished explaining.

"My mom has been getting on our ass about me skipping cheer practice and him allowing me too, so he left me and took my car. He said he'd be back to get me after." She seemed more annoyed than upset at this point. "Wow Josh is a jerk." I quickly realized what I said and hoped I didn't offend her seeing that I just called her brother a jerk but she smiled. She was beautiful..

"Wait, how do you know Josh? I didn't tell you his name." How closed off was this damn family.. "He's my trainer. You should probably get to practice." She flashed me a sappy smile before she began to strut off. Damn it I should apologize again, that wasn't enough.

"Hey wait up, let me walk you!" I practically screamed across the parking lot.

"Listen I'm really sorry about earlier today's been a rough first day for me and I just, I don't know"

"Me and you both, it's okay"

Those were the only words we exchanged before we reached the football field. I still haven't got her name but she seems nice I guess. She quickly approached the rest of the team and slipped on her clothes near the side line. Fuck. Her body made my soul evaporate.

I decided to stay and watch for a bit. They did the basic preppy cheer girl stuff. Waving pom poms, throwing each other in the air, flipping and many more stunts I couldn't even begin to put names too.

-------------------------

I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I looked at the time and it was already 5. Fuck. A text message bounced across the top of the screen
"Josh~ made up your mind?" I really didn't want to do this but I needed that money bad.

I grabbed my things and rushed home to get ready. I called Josh and let him know I'd be there for the fight, I damn sure wasn't losing. Whoever I was fighting their soul and that money was coming home with me.
