[Ainsley's POV.]

"Iris is under the water! Oh my gosh!" I became more panicked by Theo's cries, worried about Iris who was to be saved by Cedric as a part of the second task.

"What have I done.." I felt my head getting lighter, but I was in no position to pass out when my friend was in some lake, probably dying little by little over the minute.

"She'll be alright, darling. Iris will come out just fine." Cyno acted as my pole for balance while assuring me.

"It's been a long time, Cyno, what if something bad's happened to her?" My eyes were attached to the water body, hoping to see a hint of Iris.

"What is Diggory doing anyways? What's more important than getting Iris out?" Theo grunted. He was very visibly fuming with anger, I could almost spot the veins popping out of his neck.

"Oh, she's here! Iris!" Someone called out, I think it was Carla. Or was it Nora? I wasn't sure.

Before I even got the chance to process the information, Theo sprang up and ran down towards the crowd.

Cyno helped me move towards Iris, making me regret not taking my situational syncope seriously.

"You okay?" I was a little out of breath as I asked, but Cyno made me feel better with his soft caresses on my back.

"Yeah, it's a little blurry and cold but I'll be okay." Iris coughed.

Soon enough, Iris was taken inside for resting. We made sure she settled down comfortably before leaving her with Theo, who would no doubt take great care of her.

"Are you any better?" Cyno sat me down on his bed, handing me a glass of water.

"Yeah, I think so. My throat feels a little dry but I'm sure I just need to hydrate myself." I skipped on my glass of water. "All that stress made me sweat away all the water I drank."

"You really should start drinking more water." I felt the bed sink down as Cyno leaned against the headboard, beside me.

I placed the glass on his bed side table with a sigh. "I really want to talk about this, can we talk?" I managed to ask after some internal debate.

"Of course, darling. You can talk to me, anytime." Cyno got into his usual comforting stance, which was really just holding my hands and looking into my eyes.

That gesture was enough to knock me out of my mind, but I made a decision. I would not refuse to communicate, whether good or bad.

"The whole thing with Iris and Cedric, I think I made a mistake." I stated, to which Cyno nodded in acknowledgement. "I can't tell you anything in detail but- but, Cedric will leave Iris, and they wouldn't even be able to make amends, it's complicated but I can't explain anything."

"I knew that, from the beginning. I knew it, but I still became the cause of Iris being entitled to that fate." I could finally feel my lungs ease up. I really had to get all of this out to Cyno.

"I get how you feel, it's totally valid." Cyno began. "I've told you this once, and I'll tell you this again. Cedric would've figured out another way to get Iris's contacts even if not through you. So, it isn't your fault or anything."

"But maybe if I hadn't, Theo would've asked her out before Cedric manages to get it." I blinked, I felt like I was being too much. But I will let all my worries out, that was what I had decided.

"That's just how it was meant to happen, think of it that way." Cyno buzzed. "Maybe it happened so we could be just like this, on my bed, cuddling."

His comment surely made me cackle internally.

"I'm not in the mood for cuddling, though." I teased.

"Oh, say less."

"NO, I LIED."

[Ainsley's POV.]

I woke up to the feeling of something warm crawling against my cold skin.

I fell asleep here at Cyno's room after a short studying session after dinner. It was probably around 2 am right now.

"Cyno?" I cracked out, gaining the attention of the obviously awake guy. It was still dark, but the moonlight was enough to illuminate his room.

"Hey, doll. You're up?" Cyno whispered low, his breath fanned my neck making me shiver.

"Yeah, I sensed your hand's adventure up my waist." I muttered, giggling.

"Sorry." Cyno sheepishly chuckled. He pressed a kiss on my neck, gentle and soft. "You were in my dream."

"Which country were we fighting against this time?" It wasn't a new occurrence for him to dream of me.

They were always so unhinged. One time, he dreamt of the two of us aiding the axis powers in the second world war. Apparently, we lost when Kuro betrayed us and sided with the allied powers.

"No, it was a different kind of dream." He pulled me closer, I realised what he meant.

"Oh? What was it?" I pretended to be oblivious, turning to my side to face him.

"I'd rather show than tell."

"I like that idea."

However, I was caught off-guard when I felt my legs getting yanked apart. Cyno lifted himself up, hovering over me.

He squeezed my thighs with his hands, as they slowly climbed their way to my ass.

"How do you just wake up feeling inflamed?" I spoke, as he continued lowering down my body.

"You would be too if you saw my dream." He kissed down along my neck.

"I can't argue with that." I mumbled, while Cyno was very desperate to say the least.

"Do you realise how hard it is for me to stay composed all the time with you right beside me?" Cyno whispered against my neck.

"No, I didn't." I answered. My hands had their own plans, as they crawled around Cyno's face pulling him up.

As soon as I did, I slammed my lips onto his. He kissed back with greater passion than me, I guessed he really held back for a while now.

His hand squeezed my butt, making me yelp. My action, however, provided him a chance to deepen our kiss.

I felt his tongue slither against mine like never before.

"This is better done than dreamt." He muttered pulling away.

"Tell me about it."

"Later." He said, slipping his shirt off in seconds. "We've still got things to do."
