Sahed'd been locked in a cage for a while, but Tonny couldn't fathom how much damage had been done. The entire cage was alight, and the bars were melting away as Sahed sat in a pool of his own fire.
"What do you like hurting yourself?" Tonny yelled.
Sahed just smirked, grasping the bars of the cage tightly. They were slowly opening into & ragged "o" that Sahed already had his torso poked through.
"Don't move. I'm just here to talk."
"Talk? Sure..." the ah'kon said sarcastically.
Sahed slipped out from between the bars and raced for Tonny's office. For a moment, the ringmaster didn't react, but it didn't take long before he went sprinting after Sahed.
The pair pelted down the hall, Tonny on the other man's heels. Around a corridor, then another, past Dotty's room... and there it was. Tonny's office.
     "Don't. You. Dare." Tonny threatened.
But Sahed didn't hesitate to knock the door down.
     "Julia!" He yelled.
The sight that he observed shocked him. She wasn't being maimed or tortured, and certainly wasn't dead (at least not more than she'd been before).
In actuality, she was sitting at Tonny's desk doing paperwork, and looked up in surprise at the yelling and pounding footsteps that greeted her.
"I thought you said you were going to talk to him." She sighed exasperatedly at Tonny.
"Don't blame me for this! He lit his cage on FIRE!" Anthonn exclaimed.
Sahed shook his head, "And you, Julia, become Tonny's pet while I was away freaking out that you might've died!"
"I'm not his—"
"Don't play this innocent act with me," He said, stepping closer to her, "you're sitting in his office doing his work."
Sahed reached forward and grabbed her wrist, pulling her out of her seat.
"C'mon, we're leaving."
"Let go of her!" Tonny yelled.
"No, it's fine, Tonny. I need to talk to him."
"Yeah, what are you, her boyfriend or something?" The ah'kon challenged.
As she followed- or more precisely was dragged- Sahed out of the room, she could hear a third set of footsteps trailing them. Tonny was following them. Julia paused, waiting until the ringmaster peered around the corner.
"One-on-one. I need to talk with him one-on-one."
Tonny, getting the hint, looked sheepish, "Y-yeah. Don't take too long, okay?"
She nodded, but Sahed just glared daggers at him. The two rounded the corridor, passed Dotty's room, and landed back by Sahed's cage— which was, in fact, still burning. The other circus members had seemingly tried to put out the fire, as implied by the buckets of water that sat around it, but it was obvious they'd given up.
"So, while I was worried sick about you, you left me to become an accountant, right?"
"I told Tonny everything." Was all Julia could muster.
He narrowed his eyes, arms crossed. His usual cocky smirk had dissipated, and he almost appeared crestfallen.
"You know you look like a prisoner in that outfit."
"I did something unforgivable. He just wants to keep me close."
Guilt shimmered in Julia's eyes. It was disgusting. After everything Sahed promised her, done for her... she threw him under the bus.
"Anthonn must be proud. You're a well behaved girl now." He said smugly.
She couldn't meet his gaze. Any words she wanted to say were stuck in her throat.
"What do you want, Sahed? To team up and try to kill him again?"
"What? No?" He yelped quickly.
"Then what?"
"I... I don't know, I just... after all that happened I thought..."
"I feel more at ease now," she said simply, "Tonny gave me something I can do, something I can handle."
"Okay, then let me give you can do."
"No, Sahed. You don't understand. This- all of this- is crushing me."
"What...?"
"You and I... we tried to kill someone. And all Tonny has been is kind, supportive, and forgiving."
"That bastard is tricking you." Sahed insisted.
"I know nothing about you!" She exclaimed.
"Well in my defense, you never asked."
"Then I guess we were never really friends. But we're dangerous when we're together, that's for sure."
"Where are you going with this?"
"Just, please, don't ever try to talk to me again."
No words were exchanged, and a hostile silence hung in the air. Julia's gaze met the floor, and Sahed couldn't help but be confused.
"If that's what your boss wants." He scoffed, trying to keep his composure.
"It's my decision."
"Fine. Bye, then."
And with that, Sahed left. He just turned and walked away. Was Julia satisfied? Hell no. That expression on his face was enough to kill her. But it had to be this way. She just had to remind herself of that.

"Hey! You're back," Tonny shot up from his desk, "was starting to wonder what was taking you so long."
Julia tried to force a smile as she spoke, "Yeah, it got a little heated, but it was fine."
"You don't look fine. Did something happen?"
She hesitated, looking up at him. His gaze was so sincere, she felt like she could tell him anything. Had it ever been like this with Sahed?
"Well... sort of. I cut contact with Sahed."
The ringmaster barely stopped himself from exclaiming how great that was. The pain in her eyes reminded Tonny of how much Sahed had meant to her.
"At least you can focus on doing good instead of murder now?" He joked in an attempt to lighten the mood.
Julia nodded, but she seemed unconvinced. These past few months had been stressful, but Tonny had an idea of how to cheer her up.
"I know you're not a fan of the bonfires, but what if we went down together? It might take your mind off of things."
To his surprise, she agreed and actually seemed excited to go.
"I wouldn't mind that."
     "C'mon, let's go."
