The evening sky glowed faintly with the hues of pink and gold, fading into a deep blue as night began its descent over Paris. Alessa leaned back in her chair on the balcony, cradling a steaming mug of hot chocolate between her hands. The faint chatter of city life hummed below, a comforting reminder of the world continuing its rhythm.

She took a small sip, savoring the warmth against the cool breeze, when a familiar sound reached her ears-a soft thud on the railing. Without looking, she already knew who it was.

"Again rejected?" she asked casually, glancing up to see Cat Noir perched on the edge of her balcony. His shoulders sagged, and he wore the faintest hint of a defeated smile.

"Yeah," he admitted, stepping down to sit across from her.

It had become a routine of sorts. Ever since that random night months ago when he had stumbled across her balcony while patrolling, they had built a strange but solid friendship. Alessa didn't ask too many questions, and Cat Noir appreciated the lack of expectations. This balcony, with its mismatched furniture and string lights, had become his sanctuary.

Alessa reached out, patting his back softly. "It's alright. Just don't give up."

He sighed, his cat ears drooping slightly. "How can I not give up? She rejects me every single time. I mean, how many more ways can I humiliate myself before it stops hurting?"

Alessa placed her mug on the table and leaned back, her gaze thoughtful. "Look, I know she told you she likes someone else. But you like her too, right? So why give up? If she's still holding onto her feelings for this other person, why can't you hold onto yours for her? Someday, somehow, things might change. Believe me."

Cat Noir let out a soft chuckle. "You sound like a motivational poster, you know that?"

"Hey, someone has to knock some sense into you," she teased, grinning as she handed him a spare cup of hot chocolate she had prepared earlier.

He took it gratefully, letting the warmth seep into his gloved hands. "Thanks," he murmured.

For a moment, they sat in companionable silence, sipping their drinks as the city lights flickered to life below them.

Then Cat Noir broke the quiet. "Hey... Alessa?"

She raised an eyebrow. "Yeah?"

"Can I ask you something?" He fidgeted, a rare nervousness creeping into his tone.

"Sure, shoot."

"Do you... think I'm attractive?"

Alessa blinked, momentarily stunned by the question. She narrowed her eyes in mock seriousness. "Nope."

Cat Noir nudged her, clearly not buying it. "Hey! I'm being serious!"

She laughed, unable to keep up the facade. "Alright, fine. Of course, you're attractive, you idiot. I mean, just look at yourself! Who wouldn't find you attractive? Those green eyes, the perfect blonde hair, your height, your smile-you're basically a walking heartthrob." She paused dramatically. "Honestly, I don't understand why Ladybug rejects you. Her loss, for sure."

Cat Noir's cheeks flushed a deep pink, and he turned his gaze away, mumbling under his breath, "Shoot... Why am I blushing? Stop it, you idiot."

Alessa chuckled at his obvious embarrassment. "Mop it off, Romeo. We're playing games now."

She stood, leading him inside her cozy apartment. It was modest but warm, filled with little trinkets and personal touches that spoke of her solitary yet content life. Cat Noir de-transformed into Adrien without hesitation-a sign of the trust between them, he had revealed his identity a long time ago ....not knowing she already knew it....she also kept it a secret.

"Cars or fight?" Alessa asked, holding up two controllers.

Adrien grinned. "Cars!"

The hours melted away as they raced through virtual tracks, shouting in mock rivalry and laughing at each other's near misses. The night felt lighter, their burdens momentarily forgotten.

But then, a cookie tumbled from the bowl on her bedside table, hitting the floor with a soft plop.

Alessa froze for a fraction of a second, her heart skipping a beat. She knew exactly what had caused it.

"Uh..." She forced a sheepish smile. "A mouse! Yeah, a mouse must've been hungry."

Adrien gave her a quizzical look but shrugged it off. "Must've starving." Adrien joked.

They both chuckled, and the tension melted away.

By the time they glanced at the clock, the hands had crept dangerously close to midnight.

"Wow, it's late," Alessa remarked, stretching.

Adrien stood, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah, I should probably head home before my father realizes I'm gone."

Alessa nodded, walking him to the door. "Stay safe, Adrien."

"You too, Alessa," he said with a small smile before leaping out into the night.

As she watched him disappear into the distance, Alessa let out a soft sigh. The secret of what caused the cookie to fell remained with her.

Crawling into bed, she stared at the ceiling, replaying the events of the evening in her mind. As her eyes grew heavy, a faint smile touched her lips.

Whatever tomorrow brought, she'd face it head-on-just like always.
