Tobin looked up at the man standing in front of them. Alex's ex-boyfriend; the man who tore her heart to pieces when he dated someone else the day after proposing to Alex. Tobin turned back at the beautiful girl sitting in front of her.
"W-What are you doing here?" Alex stuttered. She hadn't seen Servando since the photos surfaced of him and another woman; that night she had called him to end their relationship, and she had vowed to never speak to him again.
"I'm here for dinner with the team." He said bluntly. She nodded.
"Well, see ya around! Or actually, we'd rather not." Tobin shot him a smirk and took Alex's hand and they began walking away.
"Not so fast, kids." He grabbed Alex's hand and separated it from Tobin's, then turned to Tobin and punched her square in the face. She fell backwards into a table, knocking over some wine glasses, her nose bleeding everywhere.
"What the hell are you doing!? You psychopath!" Alex screamed as a crowd gathered around the scene. Servando grabbed her shirt and yanked her towards him. He pressed his lips against hers as she struggled to push him off.
"Someone call the cops..." Tobin spoke quietly with her bloody face buried in napkins.
Kelley, Hope, Sydney and Dom had made their way over, terrified. Hope called the police and Sydney sent Dom into the center of the action to calm Servando down.
"Dude, what are you doing!?" Dom pulled Servando off of Alex, and Servando turned to him and lifted his fist, but the police ran into the restaurant at that moment. Servando pushed Dom onto Alex and they fell onto the ground next to Tobin. The dark-haired man sprinted through the back doors of the bar and disappeared.
"Where is he!?" One of the two cops entered the middle of the crowd of people.
"He... I don't know." Alex said with tears streaming down her face once again.
Dom stood up and helped Alex and Tobin up.
Kelley, Hope, and Syd ran towards the girls and they all hugged. The police officers continued looking for Servando, but he had gotten away. They hadn't been able to identify his car before he took off.
When they finally made it back to the apartment, the girls sat down on the sofa.
Eventful day..." Tobin said, holding a bag of ice on her face. Everyone chuckled.
"Are you sure you're okay though? Your nose is, well, not looking too great..." Kelley giggled and Tobin stood up to look in the mirror.
"Shit! I mean shoot! You guys didn't tell me that I looked like a raccoon!!" She looked at her reflection, with a swollen nose and puffy black eyes.
"You're alright. I'm sure the ankle hurt more." Alex grinned and Tobin sat down next to her.
"So...We were kinda distracted, but now that we're all alone again, WHAT HAPPENED!?" Kelley yelled.
"What? Like, with us?" Tobin motioned to herself and Alex.
"Um, yeah! I heard there was a kiss!?" Kelley replied.
"Maybe there was." Alex smiled.
"YES! Finally!" Hope laughed and gave Kelley a high five.
"You guys don't understand how long we've all been trying to get you together. So much work!" Kelley shook her head.
"We've all?" Tobin asked.
"Yes, me, Hope, and the rest of the entire damn team! Everybody knew except for you guys!" The defender laughed.
"I knew." Alex grinned.
"No you didn't." Tobin gave her a nudge.
"I knew I loved you, but I didn't know you loved me." Alex said quietly.
"Alright, well, I'm gonna go home. It's been... an interesting day, see you guys tomorrow!" Hope gave each girl a hug and left.
"Why haven't you moved in yet?" Alex asked Kelley, who was getting up to go to bed.
"She keeps asking me, but I just don't know if I'm ready for such a big change." Kelley said.
"Dude, Hope lives ten minutes away from us! And you used to love traveling and never staying in one place!" Tobin looked up at Kelley.
"I know, but we've been living here for two full months now, it's gonna be weird not seeing this stuff every day."
"Don't worry, you'll get to see us every day!" Alex smiled and they all made their way to the bedrooms.
"Night Kell!" Tobin said as Kelley closed her door. Alex was in the bathroom, taking off her makeup and stuff.
Tobin got changed and got into bed, opening her laptop to watch Netflix. She was in the middle of Friends when there was a faint knock on her bedroom door.
"Tobs?" Alex whispered. Tobin smiled.
"Come in," she said, putting her laptop away.
Alex walked into Tobin's bedroom and closed the door behind herself. She climbed into bed next to Tobin and gave her a hug. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me," she said, closing her eyes.
"I love you." Tobin whispered.
"I love you too." Alex's raspy voice whispered back.
This time, they both knew it was that different kind of 'I love you.'
This was real.
