while the hashiras were sleeping, a storm was getting ready to cover the whole day in heaps of rain and thunder, when something like this happens at the corps the master orders for all crows to send the message of a day off, for when it rains this heavy for a full day straight, one could get sick or very easily injured.

(giyuus pov)
''CAW CAW!! MASTER HAS ORDERED A HASHIRA DAY OFF DUE TO THE STORM!! CAW CAW!! '' kanzaburo squaked, landing silently on my window sill, taking a moment to get up, I slowly headed and got food for kanzaburo as well as the note he had brought me, the note read, ''Dear Tomioka, I know you always love to go out in the rain, I often get updates about it but today please don't go outside my child, these conditions are dangerous and being outside for too long could cause illness. '' hm, is it actually going to be that bad though? i should be fine, maybe instead I'll just go for a quick walk outside soon but for now, I should get ready.

* after giyuu tomioka got ready*

'sigh.. okay I have my sword and everything I should be good to go...oh I didn't put my hair up, should I? I don't feel like it I'm only going for a short walk after all. ' giyuu thought to himself as he headed out the door.

'as giyuu was walking in the heavy rain, he started to feel lightheaded, despite this he kept going and eventually just fainted. '

(sanemi pov.)
'ugh today is boring, maybe I should go on my porch and watch the rain, maybe I could even listen to some music on my phone (A/N shh don't question how they have phones in 1926 shhh.) Sanemi was thinking until he saw giyuu, giyuu was stumbling until he suddenly fainted. ''TOMIOKA!! ''i screamed as I ran to him, I quickly brought him into my estate, he was still slightly conscious and woke fully up in my arms before I layed him down on the bed, ''shin..uzgawa....is that you..? ''he said, his voice frail and weak, probably because he got sick from the rain, ugh this dumb ass is gonna be the death of me...i still love him though.. I was suddenly snapped out of my thoughts when giyuu rested his head on my lap, should i ask him what he was doing in the rain now? yeah I should. . . ''giyuu, what exactly were you doing in the rain? I specifically asked master to tell you not to go in the rain. so please explain why did you go outside. ''i said, I shortly realized I sounded mad, but before I could apologize he sighed then started softly talking, '' well I. . . just wanted to do a quick walk, but it ended up being a long walk. . . '' I quickly went on to lift him off my lap so I could go get medicine for him, since he was clearly sick.

''tomioka, take this medicine, right now. ''i said sternly, I knew he hated taking medicine but he still has to take it if he wants to get better, ''no. . . it's nasty blegh. ''he said clearly disgusted, I decided to instead take matters into my own hands, I put all the medicine in my mouth before going over to give him a kiss, transfering the medicine into his mouth, before getting on the bed and laying down, giyuu following me and snuggling close to my chest before muttering, ''i love you sanemi. . . ''i sighed before saying, ''i love you more dear, now sleep so you can get better my love. ''
