Mia's breath hitched as Aiden's hand brushed against hers, the touch so light, so deliberate, that it sent a wave of heat coursing through her veins. His fingers lingered for just a second longer than necessary, his gaze locking onto hers, searching—waiting.
"I told you," he whispered, his voice a low, dangerous promise, "I don't like to be ignored."
Her heart hammered in her chest, but she fought the instinct to pull away, to break free from the magnetic pull he had over her. He was a force, and she was powerless against it. There was something in his eyes, something dark and possessive, that made her feel like she was both being drawn into his orbit and crushed under its weight.
"I'm not ignoring you," she murmured, her voice trembling despite her best efforts. "I just don't... I don't think I should be here."
Aiden's lips twitched in a smile that sent a shiver down her spine. "You're here, Mia. And you're going to stay. Whether you want to or not."
Before she could react, he was standing, his presence towering over her, his hand reaching out to grasp her wrist with a firm, almost possessive grip. He tugged her toward him, and she stumbled forward, her body crashing into his with a soft gasp.
For a moment, neither of them moved, the air thick with anticipation. Then, slowly, Aiden leaned in, his breath hot against her ear as he whispered, "You've been tempting me all night. Do you know that?"
She swallowed, her body betraying her as her pulse raced and her thoughts scattered. "I haven't done anything."
His lips brushed against her neck, his breath warm and teasing. "You've done plenty, Mia. The way you look at me... the way you avoid me, like you're afraid, but also wanting more. You can't hide from me. Not anymore."
His other hand found her waist, pulling her closer until the heat of his body was a suffocating presence against hers. She could feel the strength in his grip, the power he exerted with the smallest movement, and it made her knees weak.
"Mia..." He breathed her name, a low growl that made her pulse race even faster. "You've been playing with fire. And now, you're going to get burned."
Before she could react, his lips were on hers, hard and demanding, a kiss that stole the breath from her lungs. His hand slid down her back, pulling her even closer, the pressure of his body against hers igniting a hunger inside her that she couldn't ignore.
She knew she should pull away, knew she should stop this before it went too far. But the way his lips moved against hers, the way he controlled everything with the slightest touch, made it impossible to think straight. Her body burned with need, every part of her aching for more.
Aiden broke the kiss for a breath, his eyes dark with desire as they locked onto hers. "I'm going to make you beg for me, Mia. I'm going to make you crave everything I give you."
Her breath caught, the heat between them intensifying, suffocating her. But she couldn't pull away. She didn't want to.
This was dangerous. This was everything she had been running from. But for some reason, all she could think about was how much she needed him, how much she wanted him to claim her.
And deep down, she knew: once he had her, there was no going back.
