Chapter 4. Keeps blushing

Today , they have a physical education(PE) lesson. Ling Ling looks up in Orm's direction and meets her gaze. Both of them pair up and start to move to the middle of the field to practice passing the soft ball.

Everything is going well until Orm accidentally throws the ball too hard and it hits Ling Ling's finger.

Ling Ling flinches and says,

"Hello medical response cadet, why are you always hurting me ? "

"..."- Orm stays quiet until she stands next to Ling Ling.

Even though Ling Ling is just telling a joke, Orm looks down at her feet and her cheeks turn red. In her past life, she also hurt Ling Ling like this, how could she forget that.

Orm looks at Ling Ling's hand, holds her finger, and rubs them. Ling Ling's hand is extremly warm, Orm feels guilty for hurting her but at the same time feels ironically satisfied.

"It's alright, let's continue, Mr. Sia is staring at us"- Ling Ling withdraws her hand and looks in the PE teacher's direction.

Orm looks at her empty hand in the air and then at Mr . Sia, she starts to blush because of her weird thoughts.

Everyone sits at the round table at the canteen. Orm sits next to Ling Ling. When they finish eating, all of them start to chit - chat with each other.

Orm suddenly stays quiet. The sun shines into Ling Ling's eyes, making the yellowish-brown iris more obvious.

"It's so beautiful, " Orm says to herself in her head. Ling Ling is confused by looking at her bewildered expression.

Ling Ling waves her hand from left to right in front of Orm and says,

"Ling Ling, your eyes are so beautiful, I love it . "- In her previous life, Orm liked to sneak a peek at Ling Ling's eyes. She never dares to admit to Ling Ling how much she adores them , but now she just cannot stop her instinct to praise her.

Ling Ling does not say anything but sticks out her tongue and winks at Orm. Orm's heart starts to race and she stares at Ling Ling's fingers again.

Orm feels like a pedophile. Her mental age is already 35, how could she have such wild thoughts towards this 18 -year - old girl ?

Her lips turn pale as she feels embarrassed of herself. Maybe it is because she dreams of having Ling Ling for days and nights, that is why she feels so desirous towards lust.

Everyone around the table laughs loudly towards the vivid scene right in front of them. This is one of the very rare times that Ling Ling acts so playfully .

In the afternoon on the same day, everyone has to stay back to go for their Co-Curricular Activities (CCA).

Orm's CCA is medical response, basically learning how to do first aid and medical knowledge. She changes into her full uniform. Orm has a very well-proportioned body, the red skirt and white shirt flatter her curves and small waist. She ties her hair high up into a bun and stares at herself in the mirror.

Orm used to have an inferiority complex towards herself, but now she looks at her high school appearance, she just wants to cry for herself. The day when she heard the announcement about Ling Ling's marriage, it is as if the whole world collapsed and she started to forget herself, immersing herself in alcohol. This appearance is so much better than the ghost she sees every time she looks in the mirror.

Orm took a deep breath and left the changing room.

Orm sees Ling Ling's back when she walks out of the changing room. She walks quickly in front with her hands burdened with her school bags and shoes.

"Ling Ling" - Orm calls her .

Ling Ling stops fixing her shoelaces and looks for the one calling her. She freezes in place for just a split second and then stands up.

Ling Ling is a few centimeters shorter than Orm, she raises her arm and pats Orm's head, just gently ; she does not want to mess up her hair.

"You look extraordinarily gorgeous in this uniform" - Ling Ling exclaims to Orm.

Orm's feet are rooted to the ground, her cheeks are burning red ; she did not expect Ling Ling to be this direct.

In Orm's previous life, her inferiority urges her to avoid Ling Ling because she feels so ugly in this uniform. She always changes in a different changing room that is very far away from Ling Ling's CCA room.

Orm successfully stayed away from Ling Ling's view but today, she regrets her success.

The feeling when her crush compliments her makes Orm feels on top of the moon. It is as if she has no weight and could fall down immediately.

Orm smiles brightly, brighter than the sun. Her eyes form a thin line like a crescent moon.

Ling Ling looks down at Orm's hands, lugging many items.

"Why don't you put your bag on?"

"I cannot put on my bag when wearing the full uniform ; it is considered disrespectful to cover the badges"- Orm explains.

"Oh, I see, let me help you"- Ling Ling clicks her tongue and says. Orm looks down at the items in Ling Ling's hands and smiles.

Both of them talk until they reach Orm's CCA room.

"Thank you , Ling Ling~"- Orm whispers through Ling Ling's ear.

Ling Ling feels itchy. Is it a hallucination that she feels Orm is playing with her by blowing in her ear? Her ears turn red soon after Orm walks into the room.

Ling Ling looks at her silhouette, maybe she is just thinking too much.

Orm walks off as if nothing had happened, but her heart is palpitating so hard that she can hardly breathe. There is a light grin on her face.

The CCA session ended in just 3 hours. Orm quickly changes into her usual school uniform because her CCA full uniform is not allowed to be worn in public. She purposely runs past Ling Ling's CCA room to peek on her to see if her CCA has ended.

There are still closure announcements. Orm roams around the corridor like a thief and waits until Ling Ling appears outside the room. Orm acts like she coincidentally passed by when Ling Ling is done tying her shoelaces .

"Orm"- Ling widens her steps and touches Orm's shoulder.

"Oh, your CCA ends?" Orm turns back, asking, displaying an innocent expression on her face.

Ling Ling nods her head. Both of them walk to the bus stop together.

"I'm starving!" Ling Ling groans and holds onto her stomach.

Orm is very familiar with this situation in her previous life. Ling Ling often falls sick, mainly stomachaches and headaches . Orm took out a sandwich that she bought during lunchtime and put it in front of Ling Ling's face.

"Stop skipping lunch already!"

The bus soon arrives . Ling Ling throws the sandwich wrap into the dustbin . The bus is almost fully packed, and both of them know well that if they cannot board the bus, the next one will be the same because this is peak timing.

The two girls squeeze into the bus . Orm can feel that she is leaning onto Ling Ling's body. Orm feels her cheeks are on fire again .

The bus suddenly stops for the traffic light, and everyone wobbles. Ling Ling grabs onto the bus handle and wraps her hand around Orm's waist. Orm can clearly feel Ling Ling's steady breathing.

Orm closes her eyes and moves closer to close up the little gap between their chests . It feels like a million years until they reach their destination.
