Kylie's POV
I wake up, and Malia is still curled up next to me. She's snoring softly, her chest rising and falling with the rhythm of sleep. It's... adorable. She looks so relaxed, so peaceful, like nothing in the world could bother her right now. I smile, brushing a stray curl away from her face before carefully moving away, trying not to disturb her. My movements are slow and deliberate, like I'm sneaking out of a crime scene, but my goal is far more innocent: I want to make her something to eat. Judging by the state she was in last night, she'll need some aspirin too.
When I walk into the kitchen, I see Ruby sitting at the table with a mug of coffee, scrolling through her phone.
"Did Josh already leave?" I ask, grabbing a glass of water.
She nods, a smirk playing on her lips. "Yeah. I guess Malia hasn't left yet," she says, her tone dripping with playful insinuation.
I roll my eyes and laugh a little. "Oh no, yeah, she's still out cold."
"So... what happened last night? Is there one less virgin in the world now?" Ruby teases, standing and walking toward me, her grin widening.
I playfully smack her arm. "Ruby!"
"What? She was all over you last night. I wouldn't be surprised," she says, raising her eyebrows and crossing her arms dramatically.
Oh, I remember last night all too well. It's been playing on a loop in my head. The way Malia kissed me, not with hesitation but with need, with hunger. Her hands exploring, trailing from my neck to my collarbone, sliding down my spine, and wandering dangerously close to my weak spot. The way she took control, even for a moment.
"Earth to Kylie! Hello?" Ruby waves a hand in front of my face, yanking me out of my thoughts.
"Oh, yeah. Sorry," I mutter, shaking my head as if it'll clear the memories away. I sigh, long and heavy, running a hand through my hair.
"What's going on?" Ruby asks, her tone softening slightly.
"Nothing. Nothing," I mutter quickly, avoiding her gaze. "Could you pass me the butter?" I hold my hand out, trying to redirect the conversation.
"Kylie," she says, eyebrows raised in disbelief as she hands me the butter.
I slam my hand on the counter, letting it linger there as I grunt in frustration. "Okay, fine. I think I'm going insane, Ruby."
She bursts out laughing. "Tell me something new," she teases, holding her stomach.
I flip her off, but even I can't help laughing a little. "No, sorry. Seriously-what's up?" she asks again, her tone more sincere this time.
I exhale loudly, leaning against the counter. "I'm going to sound like a sex addict, but I haven't had sex in weeks, and it's stressing me out! And Malia-she keeps on being so fucking touchy! I can't handle it!"
I stop cooking and start pacing around the kitchen, my hands waving in the air to emphasize my frustration. Ruby laughs, shaking her head as she takes over making breakfast-probably for the best anyways.
"I'm trying so hard to respect her boundaries and shit, but come on!" I exclaim, throwing my hands up. "Last night, she literally said, 'I want you' and started kissing my neck. My neck, Ruby. You know that's my weak spot!"
"Oh, I know. I know. Keep going," Ruby says, clearly enjoying my misery.
"And last Friday, when we had that movie night while you and Josh were out? We finished Shrek 2, and suddenly she pins me down on the couch, sits on me, and starts kissing me. And, of course, she kissed my neck then too."
