The sound of the gun cocking sent a chill down Liona's spine. She took a shaky step back, fear clawing at her chest as she fully grasped the reality before her—the girl standing in front of her wasn't the Powder she once knew. This was Jinx.
Summoning all her courage, Liona raised her chin, meeting Jinx's erratic gaze. "Shoot me," she said firmly, her voice trembling only slightly.
Jinx's eyes widened, momentarily caught off guard by Liona's challenge. Her lips parted as though she were about to speak, but before she could, the sharp sound of a machine gun cocking shattered the moment.
"Drop the gun!" Caitlyn barked, standing unsteadily with the weapon raised. Her grip was firm despite her battered state.
Jinx turned her head toward Caitlyn, her expression twisting into something feral. "Oh, you wanna play?" she sneered, her gun rising in response.
Before she could fire, Caitlyn pulled the trigger, sending a volley of bullets into the ground just inches from Jinx's feet. Jinx froze momentarily, her eyes darting to the ground and then back to Caitlyn.
"I said drop the gun." Caitlyn commanded again, her voice unwavering despite the tense standoff.
Liona's eyes widened in panic as she looked between them.
"Caitlyn, don't!" Vi shouted from where she was tied, her voice desperate and terrified. "She's my sister!"
Caitlyn's expression hardened, her hands gripping the gun tighter. "Vi, she's too far gone," she said coldly, her aim steady as she prepared to fire again.
Jinx's wild grin faltered for a moment before she raised her hands slowly, feigning surrender. "Okay, okay," she said, her voice light and mocking as she placed her gun on the table. "I give up."
Liona felt a flicker of hope until she saw Jinx's grin twist into something sinister.
"Watch out!" Liona screamed as Jinx lunged at Caitlyn.
In an instant, Jinx grabbed the machine gun and swung it, striking Caitlyn hard across the head. Caitlyn crumpled to the ground, unconscious.
"Caitlyn!" Liona cried, rushing to her cousin's side. Her hands trembled as she tried to rouse Caitlyn, tears pooling in her eyes.
Looking up, she met Jinx's gaze, her pain spilling over. "Powder, please!"
For a brief moment, something in Jinx's expression softened, as though the weight of Liona's anguish might reach her. But it was gone in a flash, replaced by a hollow, manic grin.
"I'm sorry." Jinx whispered before knocking Liona out cold.

Liona's head throbbed as she slowly regained consciousness. Blinking through the haze, she saw Caitlyn stirring beside her, clutching her head. Groaning, Liona tried to sit up, the world spinning around her.
Her eyes darted around the room until they landed on Jinx. She was standing at the edge of the building, the rocket in her hands, her silhouette illuminated against the stormy sky.
Liona's heart dropped. She realized what was about to happen.
"No! Powder, stop!" she screamed, her voice raw with desperation as she struggled to her feet.
Jinx didn't turn. She stood there for a moment, shoulders heaving, before raising the rocket toward the distant hall where the councillors were still gathered.
"Powder, don't do this!" Liona's voice was hoarse, pleading.
But it was too late.
Jinx pulled the trigger.
The sound of rocket roared through the night as the rocket tore into the councillors' hall. The glow of the hextech-powered ammunition illuminated the sky like a storm of light, followed by the distant sound of shattering glass and crumbling stone.
Liona screamed, tears streaming down her face as the devastation unfolded before her. Her knees buckled, and she fell to the ground, her cries drowned out by the cacophony of destruction.
Jinx lowered the gun, her face unreadable as she turned to look at the chaos she had unleashed. Her eyes flicked to Liona and Vi one last time before she disappeared into the night, leaving only silence and the wreckage of her actions behind.
