[After one month ]
Arohi's Pov. ⚝──⭒─⭑─⭒──⚝
"What are you looking at miss" the gardener questions seeing me and Eli out in the garden at night .
"Falling star"
I take a seat on the bench and he asks again ," you wait everyday but there's no falling star . What is it that you don't have ?"
I look at the dark sky ," What is it that I'm left with uncle"
He lets out a soft laughter ," ask someone who has lost a son in an accident. He's working as a gardener while his sick wife awaits him home "
My heart sinks at his words .I take out my golden chain and give it to him . "Go home uncle, she needs you" My eyes turn glassy.
"No miss , no I can't "
"You don't need to tell anyone . Maybe you found a falling star. " I put it on his palm and walk back in .
"Miss" he calls making me turn around. Pointing to the sky, he shows me a falling star. I rush back with tears in my eyes ," I wish for his life , I wish for him to recover soon" I break down, "I wish he gets well . Please"
Uncle looks at me for a while before saying, " don't cry miss . You're a girl with a golden heart and your wishes won't go in vain . I'll pray for whoever you did and he'll soon be with you . He'll be here" he leaves me under the sky while Eli circles me .
"Aru ! Go sleep" mumma voices and I pick Eli up before going to my room .
After a few weeks dad calls me at the breakfast table , " good morning dad , how's the case going"
He sighs "It all depends on Axar . If anything happens to him, we'll loose Rajveer."
"H-how is h-he " I fidget with the spoon in my hand .
He shakes his head and my heart sinks . My hunger dies and an urge to cry hits me .
"Everything will be fine with time. I think you should go back and complete your course ."
"What do you mean Dev" mumma questions , "she'll not go there " "Please" dad sighs , " how much more time is she gonna stay like that?"
