(Present Time)

The morning sun shone brightly over the small, bustling/lively house where the Ae-Ri family lived. The air was filled with the smell of pancakes and the usual morning chaos. Drystan and Lilith, the ever-bickering twins, were at it again at the breakfast table, making sure the day started off in their typical lively fight. Even though it was almost time for school, neither of them seemed ready. Unlike their younger brother Ember, who had a calm and gentle nature, Drystan and Lilith enjoyed teasing and challenging each other.

"Drystan, stop pulling my hair!" Lilith shrieked, trying to slap his hand away as he tugged at one of her long braids.

"Why should I? It's fun!" Drystan retorted, grinning mischievously. His eyes sparkled with the thrill of their usual sibling rivalry/fighting.

Ember, sitting quietly at the table, watched his older siblings with a mix of amusement and concern. His eyes darted between them, and he sighed. As the youngest of the family, Ember often found himself playing the role of peacemaker, always hoping to keep everyone happy and calm.

"Mom, Drystan is being mean again," Lilith called out, her voice rising as she tried to appeal to their mother.

From the kitchen, Lysandra called back, "Drystan, leave your sister alone." She didn't even look up from the pancakes she was flipping. "Breakfast is almost ready, and you two better behave." Her voice held the usual blend of authority and patience, honed/improved over years of handling the twins' antics/pranks.

Just then, their father, Arkanos, entered the room. His presence immediately brought a sense of order. The twins straightened up, trying to look innocent, but Arkanos knew them too well.

"Drystan, don't tease your sister," Arkanos said in a firm but caring voice. "Look at Ember—he's always kind to everyone."

Drystan squinted/looked at Ember, narrowing his eyes in mock annoyance. Ember looked up at his father with wide, soft eyes. "Dad, Drystan is scaring me," Ember said gently, though there was no real fear in his voice. His words were meant to defuse the tension.

"Drystan, behave," Arkanos said again, though a small smile tugged at his lips. Despite the occasional chaos, the warmth in their family was undeniable. Lysandra couldn't help but smile as she carried the pancakes to the table, pleased to see the love that held them all together.

The large glass window behind the breakfast table let in plenty of light and offered a beautiful view of the front garden. The rain from the night before had left everything outside looking fresh and green. Drops of water sparkled on the leaves, and the air felt clean and crisp.

The family gathered around the table, and the twins continued to poke fun at each other, even as they reached for the food. "Pass the syrup, Lilith," Drystan said, leaning forward.
