Sofia's pov:

It was midnight when my eyes fluttered open. A heavy weight pressed against the bed, a reminder of his presence. I could feel his proximity, a silent threat. After our last conversation, he left the room. I'd assumed he'd retreat to his own quarters, but no. He was here, in the same room, a silent observer. Perhaps a performance for the family, a facade of a happy couple.

Despite the fear, a strange sense of safety washed over me. For the past month, I'd been confined to darkness, a punishment for my defiance. Now, with him nearby, I felt a strange sense of protection, an odd comfort in his presence. Perhaps it was the fear of the dark, the need for company, or simply the strange allure of danger. Whatever the reason, I closed my eyes, surrendering to the night, and to him.

Golden rays of sunlight pierced through the curtains, awakening me from my slumber. A heavy weight pressed against me, a comforting warmth. I opened my eyes to find Ansh's arm wrapped tightly around me, his grip possessive and protective.

I tried to wriggle free, but his hold was too strong. I was trapped, a helpless prisoner in his embrace. His warmth was both comforting and suffocating, a strange paradox that I couldn't quite understand.

Finally, he released me, his gaze intense and possessive. I was breathless, a mix of fear and desire. He stood up and walked towards the bathroom, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I waited, my heart pounding, as I anticipated his return.

As he emerged from the bathroom, I couldn't help but stare. He was a vision, a dark angel with eyes as deep as the ocean. If only he wasn't the monster who had caged me, the man who had taken advantage of my vulnerability. But in that moment, lost in the depths of his gaze, I almost forgot the pain he had caused.

I quickly averted my eyes, breaking the spell. I couldn't afford to give him any false hope of anything.I stood up and headed towards the bathroom.

I emerged from the bathroom, feeling refreshed but still a bit disoriented. As I descended the stairs, I was surprised to find the entire family gathered in the dining room.

"Come, darling, have a seat,"
Ma , greeted me with a warm smile.

I couldn't help but feel a pang of surprise.
"You were all waiting for me?"

Malaika chuckled.
"Of course, dear. We're family, after all. How could we miss breakfast together?"

I took a seat beside Ansh, my heart pounding. I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, of being judged. Every move, every breath, felt scrutinized.

I was lost in my thoughts, my gaze fixed on my plate. I idly toyed with my spoon.

"Sophia,"
Ma's voice brought me to the world again
"Tonight, we're attending a party. Our business partner's son is getting married, and we're expected to be there."

"Yes, of course,"
I replied, my voice barely whispering.

"Finally,"
I breathed, admiring my reflection in the mirror. The red gown, with its intricate lace detailing and flowing skirt, made me feel elegant and confident. I smoothed down the fabric and took a deep breath. It was time.

As I descended the stairs, I was greeted by the surprised faces of Ma, Naira, Alina and Kiara. I
haven't seen Kiara since yesterday, "She gave me a strange look last night, and she wasn't even present at dinner or breakfast. And now, she's staring at me again, with that same peculiar intensity."

"You look absolutely stunning, Sophia,"
Ma exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with admiration. "You'll steal the show tonight."

Naira nodded in agreement.
"You look breathtaking just like Alina"

Alina also nodded in agreement and gave me a hug.

I smiled, feeling a surge of confidence.
"Thank you."

Grandma isn't joining us. She hates parties,
I remarked, a sense of relief washing over me
And I don't see any men joining us. That's a relief.

we arrived at the venue , I was awestruck by its grandeur. The luxurious decor, the elegant crowd - it was a world I had only glimpsed from afar. Ma was busy introducing me to her friends, her voice filled with pride.

Suddenly, a hush fell over the room. All eyes turned to the entrance. My heart skipped a beat as I saw Ansh and Vijay walking behind Vikram, their father like a protective shield . I hadn't expected to see them here. I thought they would stay away. But there they were, a formidable trio, their presence dominating the room. I couldn't help but wonder what surprises the night would bring.

I was relieved to see Ansh deep in conversation with a business partner. I thought I could finally relax, enjoy my drink, and blend into the crowd. But as the night wore on, the couples started to fill the dance floor. Even Ma and Alina were twirling with their partners. I smiled, content in my solitude.

Suddenly, I saw Ansh making his way towards me and fear started rising in me , he finally reached me and offered his hand to take.

A Wave of nervousness washed over me as I hesitated. What was he planning?

Gathering my courage, I placed my hand in his. He led me to the dance floor, his grip firm and possessive.
"I hope you know how to dance,"
he whispered, a mischievous glint in his eye.

I hesitated, caught off guard. I wasn't the most graceful dancer, but I could manage a basic waltz

As we began to dance, I couldn't help but feel a strange mix of fear and excitement. His every move was calculated, every step deliberate. It was as if he was testing me, pushing me to my limits.

The crowd watched us, their eyes filled with admiration and curiosity. I couldn't believe it. I, the awkward girl, was the center of attention, dancing with the most dangerous man in the room.

Finally, the party ended, and we were on our way home and this time I wasn't with the ladies , I was with him in the car. As we drove through the quiet streets, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease. Ansh had been unusually quiet all night, his demeanor distant and aloof.

We arrived at the mansion, The whole time I was thinking why isn't he taking his frustration on me again like I'm not fond of his actions but it was a strange change.

We retired to our room, and as I lay down, I couldn't help but feel a strange sense of anticipation. The night was young, and anything could happen.
