Dorky apologies

You tried to not get into his line of sight and avoided him the best you can but you knew eventually you two would be sitting next to each other again.

[20 minutes later at school]

You sneakily managed to not get into his sight so he wouldn't even get the chance to make a rude comment. Sally spotted you from a distance and shouted your name. "HEYY Y/N OVER HERE!!"

*Sally damit why did you have to yell*

Dean turned around and saw you a few steps behind him, he just looked annoyed and rolled his eyes. Surprisingly he didn't make a comment so you felt relief. You then waved to sally and joined her on the way of class.
Tho he hadn't made a comment, you still somehow felt tense.

*He is getting to me already and he has only been here since yesterday I have to calm down*

You and sally finally arrived and sat down. Class was just about to start but you noticed the empty chair next to you.

*Where is he ? He went in before us?*

[30 Minutes passed]

Dean was nowhere to be seen, you knew that it was non of your concern but still , you wanted to know if he is okay.
With every passing minute you got more fidgety, looking at the clock every now and then.

Sally tapped you on the shoulder and whispered "Are you feeling unwell? You have been very fidgety"
You snapped out of your thoughts and replied "yeah.. Dean hasn't come in yet but I saw him enter school before us" you slightly managed to calm down and then again said "He either is ditching class or he is feeling sick or maybe something happened to him-"
Sally smiles and cuts you off mid sentence
"You are way too kind for your own good, he probably is okay don't worry"
you smiled back "yeah Ik, it's just that I get very concerned about everything and everyone"

[class ended]

You and Sally headed out to your spot and noticed someone sitting there. You both looked at each other confused and went up to the boy and it was no other than Dean.

As you both got closer you noticed that he got into some sort of fight, his hands were bloody and he had a couple small bruises on his face, his lip was bleeding as well.

You asked "Oh my.. are you okay?"
Sally looked at him concerned.
Dean then replied "It's non of your business now leave me alone you freak"

You couldn't believe that even in such situations he had the nerve to say mean stuff.

You said "What the hell is your problem, I'm just concerned?"
For a moment his face had this utter sad look but then he turned his expression to an annoyed face.
"I said it's non of your f*cking business. You didn't have to come up and ask me, now piss off"
You looked extremely irritated and said "I had enough of your nonsense also you are at the spot where we always sit at break so you piss off!"
Immediately you regretted your words, he clearly just had a fight and you let your emotions get the better of you. You then tried to apologize "..sorry I didn't mean to-"
Dean took his backpack and stood up, he just left without any mean comment or anything.

You and sally exchanged a glance at each other and sat down.
"Ugh I'm such an idiot I should've tried to stay calm, he was clearly upset"
Sally put a hand on your back "Don't worry about it to much, you can just apologize later "
you just nodded and smiled.

[the break had ended]

Sally went ahead to go to the bathroom she was feeling ill so it was just you alone heading back to class. Out of the corner of your eye you spotted Dean again.

*should I apologize now ? Yeah I think it's for the best otherwise I'll think about it all day. I should just get it over with*

You slowly approached him and tapped his shoulder.
"Hey I know that you probably don't want to hear it but I truly am sorry, I had been irritated already and just snapped" Deans face again had that sad expression and your heart sank you could practically feel the sadness. "What happened to you ?"
He sighed and hesitated to reply "Does it matter? I got into a fight and that's that"
You shook your head "You don't have to tell me, it's just for you to tell someone and not bottle it up"

He hesitated but then just as he was about to answer you he stood up to leave. You stood in front of him "Hey don't run off it's okay you can tell me-" he pushed you with his elbow and you fell against the wall.
Dean then said "Shut up leave me alone"

*I just don't get it, but I guess I'll just leave him alone*

You headed back to class and saw him in his seat, you felt relief and quietly sat down. You decided that it was for the better to just not bother him anymore, it had no use.

[The hours went flying]

It was time for the big break again Sally felt kinda sick and went home so it was just you again.
You saw Dean from the distance at the spot where you and Sally always were.

*Oh no why is he there?*

To not get into any trouble you decided to turn around and just walk away. You heard steps approaching and turned around to see Dean right behind you.

"Why are you following me ? I'm sorry okay. I won't bother you anymore"
He looked at the ground embarrassed and hesitant. "Sorry for pushing you.." he scratched the back of his head and you were stunned.
"It's okay.." you murmured not fully believing what you just heard.
He then quickly gathered himself again and replied
"Don't think that I want to talk to you tho freak, I just felt bad about your weak ass immediately banging against a wall"
You tried to not laugh at the way he just said that.

*why did he have to say that.. I mustn't laugh he would just hate me more*

You nodded and noticed his ears were slightly red. You could tell that he doesn't know how to apologize.
Dean nodded back and rushed off slightly bumping into you as he passed.

*What a dork*

[the school day ended again]

On your way home you noticed that Dean wasn't near you didn't even see him go into the bus. You decided to not think about it too much and just went home.
