Novac was a reasonable little town. Kind of cute. Everyone was really nice, sort of but I'll go into that later.
,
My shit stitching began to itch, and I grew to the point of just ripping them out to bleed to death, but I didn't. Eventually shooting was painful and I needed to rest and take take time to doctor myself up.
Brahmin bawled and coughed as I neared a mediocre med tent. "Well fuck you too, cows."
"Hey... Got any supplies to sell?" I asked.
"I guess I can spare some..." She walked into the tent and came out with a ratty cardboard box.
"o...kay then."
After getting what I needed, I asked her if she knew where the hotel office was.
"it's by the creepy random robot. "
"Great." Just what I need! a fucking creepy robot.
As I got closer to the hotel, I noticed two things, Victor, and a rather intriguing guy walk towards the dinosaur.
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE. I TOLERATE YOU ZERO PERCENT." I've had a long day. And Victor secretly annoys the shit out of me.
"I'll let that slide, since you look rough and tired." THEN he jumped and the bot was unresponsive. I could of swore I saw the guy shake his head and quicken his pace.
I shook it off and walked inside the the office, to find a aging women reading some Fabio story. Wonderful.
"Um. Hello?"
"OH! Sorry dear! Would you like to rent a room?" She asked in a motherly way.
"Yeah. Please. How much?" I reached into my satchel. "I don't have much right now. so."
"No worry dear. 85 caps."
"um. Okay." I counted 85 caps out, leaving me 10 left over. "Here." I slid the pay over and grabbed the key. "Oh. You wouldn't have seen a guy in fancy checkered suit come through a few weeks ago?"
"I would of seen him if he rented a room, but he must've passes right on through..You could ask Daisy, or Manny or Boone. You could ask Craig now, he's the evening sniper. Poor dear, his wife being kidnapped and all."
I sighed. "Might as well. Thanks."
I walked up the steps and found my room. I was shocked when I walked inside. It was nice and relatively clean. Makes sense since it was so fucking expensive.
After stitching myself up with much more time and care, I stepped out into the cold night air.
I walked across the ruined parking lot and up and in to the dinosaur, finding myself in a quaint little shop, but no one was around, so I walked up the stairs, tripping over a loose board, but caught myself and opened the door.
Next thing I knew, I had a rifle pointed at my head and fainted. I was down for only a few minutes and regained myself, still on the ground.
"What are you doing up here?" He asked.
I got to my feet and was pissed. "Do you greet everyone like that? I just wanted to know if you needed any help or anything."
"Who told you."
"Jeanie-Mae mentioned something."
"No... I can't trust anyone."
"Well, think about this way. I don't know you. You don't know me. So. I have nothing to hold against you." I'm freaking brilliant.
"You're right. Someone sold my wife to the Legion, I don't know who. If you can find out who did it. I owe you."
"I'll do it."
-
When I got back to the room, I decided I'd start in the morning, and visit the shop and ask them if they know anything, but I highly doubt that, they're in the middle of the dinosaur all day.
-
I guessed correct, they didn't see a thing, Cliff suggested I talk to No-Bark Noonan.
"Watch out though, he's not all there."
I rolled my eye's. "No one is sane in this world anymore."
So, I looked for a out of place, crazy old man. Which wasn't hard.
"Hey! Are you No-Bark?"
"Who's askin'? WHO SENT YOU!"
"No one sent me... I just wanted to know if you knew anything about Boone's wife kidnapping... Do you?"
"Oh! Yes! I remember. I recall, I saw a group of aliens go into his and Carla's room, and coming back out, and went into the lobby for awhile, and they go beamed back up after they left, I reckon."
"that bitch!"
"Thanks No-Bark."
"If anyone asks, we never spoke."
-
Later again that night, I went into the lobby and looked through anything strange, but found a safe. The lock was a easy pick, I sorted through everything and found a bill of sale.
"Bingo, biatches."
-
I had to wait until Boone's shift, and before I knew it, it was almost midnight.
I told Jeanie-Mae to follow me, to see something weird out in front of the dinosaur. I put the beret on my head and let him take the shot.
After the frightening moment of blood splatter and and gore, I stomped up the steps to the nest and shoved the bill of sale into his hands.
"What are you going to do now?" I asked.
"Wander like you."
"Why don't you come with me?"
"I don't see any harm in it."
Six and Boone travel in complete silence for the first few days, until they run into some fiends.
"Who the fuck is that guy!"
"Cook-cook."
"HERE, LITTLE GIRL."
"No."
"I can't get a shot through all the smoke."
"I'll lead him into the clear. Just make sure I don't die." I grabbed my 9mm and jumped over the rock and running in blind.
"OVER HERE YOU SICK FUCK!" I ran, leading him to the clear. But, I'm never that lucky. Of course I trip, and the fuck jumps on me.
"GOT YOU, BITCH."
"No you don't. TAKE THE SHOT ALREADY, BOONE."
"BOONE."
"GODDAMMIT CRAIG. TAKE THE FUCKIN-"
I pushed the lifeless lowlife off of me and laid there for awhile.
"Are you okay?" Boone asked, real concerned.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Thanks."
