It took a few days for everything to heal, now if I had radiation, I'd be absolutely fine, But I've learned that creeps people out.

"Try not to strain yourself out there."

"Yeah yeah, you sound like my dad." I said looking back at the green eyed doctor. "So, Kantrex."

"Yes yes. Here."

"Thanks! Boone, we're leaving now."

-

"How do you know so much about medicine and doctor-y stuff?" Boone asked.

"Well, Back where I'm from, if I recall correctly, My dad was a doctor, my mom, well I don't remember her very well, and I was a intern for a couple weeks, then I basically was self taught, there were a lot of pharmacies and abandoned clinics, so I know a lot, most of it is pre war though." I explained.

"Then why don't you just settle somewhere that needs a doctor?"

I sighed and looked back at him. "I can't stay in one place long, I get stir crazy, I left a lot of people back home in the dark. I just don't remember who, I just. After my dad died. I just. I got up one night and left with a caravan." That was I all I remembered. Maybe because it fucked me up.

The rest of the walk was silent until we came upon The 188 trading post.

"Oh my god. Those are denim fuckin jeans. How much?" I fidgeted. I haven't seen jeans in years.

"25 caps."

I didn't even say anything, I just handed them the caps and got out of there.

"I can finally wear my fuckin kick ass belt buckle." I muttered.

--

A clip in the back pocket, lucky switch in the front, and a kick ass belt buckle. Nobody ever raped a .38

"I'm missing my zippo. Bet one of the Kahns have it. " I sighed. "Hey! at least there's a upside. JEANS."

"They look... uncomfortable." Boone stated.

"Tight jeans were a thing, back in the commune. But so were leather jackets and pre war band shirts."  Funny how I can recall fashion from almost six years ago, but not names of people.

"Wait. You come from a commune?"

"Yeah. Wanna stay here or keep moving?" I asked. I could care less.

"Keep Moving?"

"Sure! Goodsprings?" I asked, I need trade with trudy anyway. Since. Atomic Cocktails don't like me and those fiends had a shit ton.

"Sure."

the rest of the walk was silent. Besides my scream when a gecko came out fuckin nowhere. "AH. WHAT THE FUCK. YOU LITTLE SHIT."  It  Made its little giggle noise and ran on.

"It didn't try to kill you."

"Nah. Animals like me for some reason. Besides mongrels and like deathclaws and shit with wings."

"I see."

-

We got to Goodsprings an hour before the sun began to set.

"Take this shit. it's gross." I  shoved the bag of atomic cocktails over the counter. "You can give me moonshine and whiskey instead." I beamed. I looked back Boone. Still unreadable with his damn sunglasses on.

"Yeah. Okay. " she shrugged and handed two jugs of moonshine and 4 bottles of whiskey and a scotch to me and I was a happy camper. whatever that means.

"Wanna get fucked up with me, Craig?" I nudged with my elbow.

"What? oh. yeah. Sure."

We walked outside and I noticed Easy Pete wasn't there.  "Awh fuck. Sunny. did your grandpa die?"

"Hm? Oh. yeah. in his sleep though."

"Sorry."

We officially left after that. Back at the house, I turned on the lights. Still wasn't very light.

"Sin of choice?" I asked hefting the alcohol onto the book shelf. I grabbed the scotch and sat down on the twin, back against the wall. We'll see what happens.

-

The next morning, I woke. completely naked and a arm wrapped around me. "I could stay like this for a awhile."   I thought. until I saw it was 3 pm. "FUCK. WAKE UP. PUT PANTS ON." I rolled on to the floor and began pulling my jeans on and trying to snap my shotty bra. My flannel was missing buttons, thanks god for back ups.

"Fuck..." Boone groaned, now fully dressed.

"My head is killing me."

"You're not gonna get pregnant, are you?"

I coughed and rubbed my neck. "Nope. Thank you, radiation!"
