"As the flashbacks swirled in her mind, she couldn't help but remember how it all started with his quiet friend request."
Chaotic Morning.....
She woke up to the loud, persistent voice of her landlord echoing through the thin walls of her tiny apartment.
"Aanya! Aanya! You don't have class today?"
Half-asleep, she groaned and mumbled irritably, "Yes, I have... What time is it?"
"It's 11 o'clock!" came the reply.
Her eyes snapped open, panic surging through her. "11 o'clock?! OMFG! I've already missed two classes!"
She bolted upright, her blanket tangled around her legs as she scrambled off the bed. The realization hit her like a brick-there was no time to waste.
In record time, she grabbed her college uniform from the chair where she'd carelessly tossed it the night before. and hastily tied her hair into a messy bun.
Her reflection in the cracked mirror by the door stared back at her-a whirlwind of untamed hair, a wrinkled uniform, and a face that still carried the marks of the pillow. She grimaced but had no time to fix it.
Grabbing her shoes, she hopped on one foot while trying to put them on and darted out of her apartment. The landlord, an elderly woman with a sharp tongue but a kind heart, shook her head and muttered, "This girl will never change."

The Run to College
The streets were alive with the usual chaos of the late morning-vendors shouting, horns blaring, and people rushing past. Aanya weaved through the crowd, her bag bouncing on her back and her hair coming undone from the bun.
"Why didn't my alarm go off?!" she muttered to herself, dodging a street vendor's cart and narrowly avoiding colliding with a cyclist.
She could already picture her professor's disappointed glare, the sarcastic remarks from her classmates, and the shame of walking into class mid-lecture. Her stomach churned at the thought.
Finally, she reached the college gates, panting and out of breath. The guard gave her a knowing look, suppressing a smile as he opened the gate for her.
"Late again, Aanya?" he teased.
She flashed him an awkward grin. "Don't remind me!"
With her shoes clicking against the tiled hallway, she hurried toward her classroom, her heart pounding not just from the run but from the anticipation of what lay ahead.
Aanya hurriedly pushed open the door to her classroom, her face flushed from the mad dash to make it on time. The professor wasn't there yet, which gave her a small sigh of relief. Her friend, Meera, spotted her from the usual spot they shared and smirked.
"Look who decided to show up," Meera teased, grinning mischievously. "You're always late. Did you even wash your face, or is that pillow still stuck to your cheek?"
"Shut up," Aanya shot back, playfully rolling her eyes as she made her way to Meera. She jokingly slapped her friend's back before dropping into the seat beside her, her hair falling in loose strands around her face.
The class began to fill up with the chatter of other students, but before Aanya could catch her breath, another announcement came through a group chat: "Class cancelled. Prof is on leave."
The groan of disappointment that erupted around the room was instant and loud. Aanya slapped her palm on the desk in frustration.
"You've got to be kidding me!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands up. "Why did I even bother coming? I was this close to skipping entirely."
