One day, as Meera stood feeding the pigeons, a little girl approached her. The girl, no older than seven, watched her curiously before asking, “Why do you feed them?”
Meera paused. “Because it makes them happy,” she said. “And their happiness makes me happy.”
The girl seemed satisfied with the answer and ran off, leaving Meera to ponder her own words. Was that really why she did it? Or was it something deeper? Perhaps, in feeding the pigeons, she was feeding a part of herself—a part that still believed in kindness, in hope, in the beauty of small, silent acts.
