Chapter 3: I get rugby tackled

When we got to the hill camp was on, to my surprise I began to sprint.

'CAMP' I thought 'My friends my family'

I smiled so hard my jaw began to ache, my heart was so happy. Beating so fast.

When I reached the pine tree that stood at the top, I started to cry. Not out of loneliness or sadness. Out of happiness, this was the place I loved most.

"You happy to be home?" Nora stood next to me after catching up.

"Yeah," my voice broke, "More than you could know," I smiled as light tears slid down my face.

Then in that moment, I cought the eye of Nico my half brother. He was playing with some sort of, shadow maybe? I'm wasn't too sure.

"Nico," I jumped into my big brothers arms, burying me face in his shoulder.

"Kenzie!" He squeezed me and smiled, "I missed you,"

"I missed you too," I cried, "Words can't describe how fucking happy I am to see you," tears fell gently down my face, I spotted a single tear drop from my brother's face.

We stayed like that for a while.

He put me down and released me from his arms. I wiped my eyes.

"Is Hazel here, by any chance?" I looked in his brilliant dark eyes.

He nodded, and pointed to the big house. I gave him one last hug and ran off to the house.

I knocked on the door.

"Come in," I heard the camp activities director shout.

I opened the door and walked inside. I found with Chiron, Mr. D, Will Solace, Frank Zhang and my half sister, Hazel Levezeque.

"Kenzie?" Hazel walked up to me faint tears in her eyes, "Where? How? Why?" She mumbled.

I pulled her into a hug, her dark and gentle skin warm and comforting.

"Hazel I missed you so much," I could hear her sniffle.

"Mekenzie you scared the shit out of us," Hazel chided light tears calmly sliding down her face, "Don't do that again, please," she sounded tired and broken.

"I'm so sorry," I heard my voice braking, "I just had a lot going on a-and it was never my intention to be gone for so long,".

Guilt filled me, why had I been gone so long? Was it really because of her? Or was I avoiding the enevitable?

"Kenzie?" I heard a male voice.

I let go of Hazel and walked forward.

Will.

I started to cry more when I saw him, last summer when I was claimed he was like a big brother to me.

Before I could react he hugged me.

"Kenzie," he smiled, whole room became warmer -to me at least-, "I'm glad you came back," followed by, "Have you talked to Nico yet? He was probably the most worried,"

I looked him in the eyes and smiled "Yes, he's the one that told me you guys were here," he looked tired as well, light circles round his eyes, not to mention the bandages up his arms. Demigods can get hurt, sure, but Will was a child of Apollo, normally he heals much faster than it looked like her was.

"Mekenzie, lovely to see you again," I looked up.

Chiron.

"Hi Chiron," I smiled, "Mr. D,"

"Mekenzie Dunamis," Mr. D was wearing a leopard print shirt with a white tank top, a pair of cargo shorts and a pair of Ray-Bans. Of course a coke in hand.

"I'm sorry for not coming to camp," I felt really guilty,"I know that I should have come or at least sent something to show I was ok," I scratched the back of my head.

"I'm sure you had a good reason Kenzie," Hazel spoke up, she must have seen my face.

"Exactly, and your here now," Will smiled at me.

"MEKENZIE," my bestie Marla beech came bursting through the door and tackled me into a hug, "I was worried so much I'm so happy your back!"

"MARLA!" We hit the floor with a bang, but we didn't really care. I guess does travel fast huh.

"You look so pretty, I love your hair," last time I saw Marla she had long blonde hair, now she had shoulder length black hair with hot pink bangs. It made here bright green eyes look fierce and beautiful.

"Yours is pretty too!!" I had cut my hair short and pierced my nose since seeing her.

We both stayed hugging on the ground until our other friend Mariana Lane came running in.

"Marla you better have a good reason to running off I swear to the gods yo-," she stopped and looked at me, "Kenzie?" She spoke in a small quiet voice.

"Hi Maria," I smiled, tears welled in her eyes, "Come here," I pulled her into our hug.

We stayed hugging for, well I'm not sure how long - but it was a while. Until Pandora came and made me go to my cabin.

"You need to unpack your things Kenz," I groaned I knew it was true but I didn't want to.

"Ok ok fine," I turned to my friends, "See you in a bit," I smiled and walked out.

"Ok Kenz, I already took some of your things to your cabin theres just a couple things for you to take k?" I nodded.

"Yep! Thanks Nora," I prossed what she said,"Wait how much stuff do you mean? I had a bag,".

Just wanted to say that I've been trying hard to think of a good plot 😭😭 and hope everyone reading this enjoys my story.

Also while the writing is in first person it's not me speaking- just thought I'd say cos my friend read it and said 'that isn't what you look like and don't make up Ur name' 😭😭😭
