LAURENCE'S POV
After our group hug, the security guards gather the boys around them, elaborating a strategy on how to get out. There is no back door, so they will have to confront the crowd of screaming girls. I listene just for fun, since there is no customers in the shop except for them and I want to get a peak of what Harry's life is like.
"Okay, so we're going to escort you in groups, Louis and Liam first, with Patty and Jarvis. Then, Preston and I will escort Niall and Harry to the car, I've got one waiting for us not too far away," James explains.
"What about Laurence, though?" Harry asks.
"What about me?"
"Well, you're going to have to get out of here someday. We have the security with us, might as well help you get out now."
It does make sense but the thought of going out there terrifies me. What if the security guards don't keep them away from me? What if I get attacked because people think I am with them?
"Okay, change of plans. Niall, Harry and Louis, you guys will be accompanied by Patty and Jarvis, and then Liam and Laurence will be escorted by us," he motions to himself and another guy. "Since everybody is aware that Liam has a girlfriend, there won't be too many rumours."
We all nod. As the door opens to let the first three boys out, I hear the distinct screaming outside, making my heart start to beat erratically. I am getting very anxious but I know I won't have another panic attack because I have never had two in the same day.
"You should keep your apron and baseball cap on, love. Like that, they'll realize you were only working at the coffee shop and they won't suspect anything," Liam advises. I nod, a bit hurt that he doesn't want to be associated with me. I know that he means well, so I just try to push it at the back of my head.
"Ready?" James asks us. I looked at Liam who gives me a reassuring hand squeeze.
"We have to do it sooner or later right? Let's do this," I say firmly. I am a nervous reck inside, but I put on a brave front so I won't look weak. I square my shoulders as Liam gets ready as well.
"Okay, just follow us straight into the car. Don't stop," James orders. He walks to the door, quickly opening it up and leading us through. I follow Liam, looking back to make sure that Preston guy locked the door. We are slowed down by the thousands of fans that have gathered around, desperately trying to catch a glimpse of their idol.
"WHO'S THAT BITCH"
"SHE BETTER NOT BE DATING ANY OF THE GUYS, OR I'LL KILL HER."
"SHE LOOKS LIKE A SLUT"
"WHORE"
"SHE IS SO UGLY"
As soon as we are outside, angry and mean shouts are directed at me, making me instantly recoil from fright that these girls will attack me. Liam looks back at me, his eyes begging me to follow them. I reluctantly do so, getting pushed in the car by Preston. He slams the door shut and hops into another car behind ours.
Once the car speeds off, I let out a breath that I didn't realize I was holding in.
"Are you okay Laurence?" Niall inquires, looking at me worriedly. All the boys stare at me as I nod.
"So, where are we dropping you off?" Liam asks to break the awkward silence.
"You can drive me to my house, here, you just have to turn left at the next light and then go right, my house is at the end of that street," I say to James.
