Prologue

The red-haired stranger inched closer, bringing the scent of night roses in a secret garden with him along with a hint of red wine. Ruby tried to hold her breath, resisting the infamous scent that was able to allure anyone. She looked up to a pair of golden irises that screamed danger. He was "Danger". Epsilon was the definition of danger, from the tip of his perfect red hair to the bottom of his perfectly polished shoes.
Ruby looked behind her, the ledge of the rooftop. She has no steps to back up anymore.
"Watch your steps, Gem." The red-haired stranger stopped approaching, "Going down might hurt."
Ruby let a sarcastic laugh, as convincing as she could make it "Staying with you around will hurt." Staring into Epsilon's golden eyes, "I'd take my chances down there." She said she looked half a step back, inches away from the edge.
"Didn't I make it clear to you?" Epsilon stood in place, expression unchanged. "If you are gone, I'd be very sad."
"That's what I want." Ruby said, "You should save it, don't pretend that you care." Something tugged at Ruby's insides the moment she said it.
"Thought you'd say that." A grin appeared on Epsilon's perfect face, "In that case..."
"If you jump, I jump." He said and smiled.
