Julia changed into a comfy crop top and short shorts, feeling a sense of normalcy wash over her. She was about to settle onto the plush couch when Raya entered the room.

Raya's gaze swept over Julia's outfit, her expression unreadable. For a moment, they just stared at each other.

"Comfortable?" Raya asked, her voice low.

Julia nodded, tugging self-consciously at her shorts. "Yeah, thanks."

Raya's eyes lingered on Julia's midriff before meeting her gaze. "Good. You need rest."

As Raya approached, Julia's pulse quickened. She hadn't felt this way since their teenage sleepovers.

Raya halted inches from Julia, her presence electrifying. "You're safe with me, Julia."

Julia's voice was barely above a whisper. "I know."

Their faces inches apart, tension crackled between them.

Suddenly, Raya's phone buzzed, shattering the moment.

"Duty calls," Raya murmured, answering the call.

As Raya listened, her expression darkened.

"What is it?" Julia asked.

Raya's eyes locked onto hers.

"Drewla's men were spotted nearby. We need to move you to a secure location."

Julia's heart sank.
