Jungkook POV
Just as we were getting into it, the other members strolled into the dining hall, and our little conversation had to come to an end. One by one, the seats around the table filled, and soon we were all swept up in the usual breakfast banter and teasing.
Jin-hyung sat there across from me, casual as ever, like last night had been nothing more than a passing dream. He didn't give anything away—no lingering looks, no hints that he'd felt that spark between us. And I'll admit, it was getting under my skin. I needed to do something, anything, to break through that wall.
Gradually, everyone finished up their meals, and we all piled into the larger van to head back to the house. I took a seat in the back, sliding in next to Namjoon-hyung. The warmth and steady rhythm of the van's movement eventually got to me, and before I knew it, I'd drifted off, resting my head against his shoulder, sinking into a rare moment of calm.
But it didn't last long. A hand shook my shoulder, and Hobi-hyung's voice broke through my half-asleep daze, like a clap of thunder.
"Hey, Kookie! Are you in? " His tone was playful, but his grin had that little mischievous spark to it.
"Huh? where? " I blinked, rubbing my eyes as I tried to shake off the drowsiness. My face must have screamed confusion, because he laughed, amused at my cluelessness.
"The party?" He said like I was supposed to know shit. I just looked at him with all the confusion a man can get and he laughed " Yoongi-hyung just received the text about Chan's party, man!"
Hobi-hyung continued, voice animated. "To celebrate Chan's movie release, they're throwing a themed party. 'Gods of Olympus,' or something like that." He threw in a dramatic flair, hands waving like he was summoning lightning.
I wrinkled my nose at the mention of Chan, feeling a wave of irritation I couldn't quite swallow. Just the thought of him hosting some "Olympian" party was enough to make me want to skip it.
"And...?" I asked, sounding completely unimpressed.
"And...are you in?" Hobi said, raising his eyebrows at me as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. But before I could react and clearly decline it, Tae butted in from the row in front, turning around with that determined look he always wore when he had a plan in mind.
"Oh, he's definitely IN, Hobi-hyung," Tae said confidently, smirking at me like I didn't even have a choice.
I sighed, already knowing that if Tae and Jimin had their way, there was no escaping this party. And truth be told, maybe they were right. If I wanted any chance of figuring things out with Jin, maybe this ridiculous party was exactly the opening I needed.
When we finally got back to the house, I barely had time to unpack my bag before Tae and Jimin practically dragged me into their room. They shut the door behind them, both of them looking at me with those scheming smiles that always meant trouble. I crossed my arms, already half-annoyed but mostly curious about whatever wild plan they'd cooked up.
"Alright, spill it," I said, raising an eyebrow as I looked from Tae to Jimin. "What's this master plan you two are working on?"
Jimin plopped down on the bed, leaning forward with a grin. "We're going to make sure you kiss Jin-hyung at this party, obviously."
I groaned, running a hand through my hair. "But that fucker is going to be there..."
"Oh, please," Tae interjected, his eyes narrowing with determination. "Do I look like I care about him? We're gonna make sure that YOU TWO will have your alone time, and PLEASE kookie, kiss him this time..."
