This is going to be a long chapter, enjoy.

We were already 2 months in, and I was behind all my lessons - except flying. I'd always had a knack for flying, but unfortunately for me if I didn't pass my tests by the end of the year I can say "bye-bye" to my future at hogwarts. I really needed to find a tutor, and fast.

The air was getting crisper and Hagrid was growing massive pumpkins Infront of his cabin. Our school was going all out for Halloween, I'd constantly get attacked by love bats roaming the school. Soek girls would avoid certain areas as they were decorated with spiders and cobwebs. I couldn't wait for
Hallowe'en, our common room was going to throw a party. Charlie and Bill- Percy's older siblings- had found a way to sneak into the kitchens and grab a ton of food.

It was the day before Hallowe'en, and I had nothing in mind except what to wear tomorrow night. Apparently so much so, that I wasn't watching at what I had put into my cauldron and it exploded into my face. The Slytherins on the other side of the room laughed and cackled with glee, Snape approached me.

"Wood, move to Weasley. Perhaps he could teach you a few things if that thickheaded brain of yours could comprehend it"

I burned red, gathered up all my stuff and sat next to Percy. Who was measuring out all his ingredients while carefully brewing his potion. I wanted to help him, but wasn't sure what I COULD do without messing things up.

"What can I do?"

"You can't do anything, except watch. You won't learn anything unless you actually pay attention" He said it in a snobby, know-it-all way.

I sighed and banged my head against the table, there was no way I was going to pass potions. Maybe I could ask to do extra credit? Or ask for extra lessons?
Or-

"Are you watching?"

Percy's voice snapped me out of it, and I realised it was the end of the lesson and everyone was packing up. I'll just go to Professor McGonagall and ask her to appoint me a tutor, hopefully I'll pass my tests at the end of the year. I rushed out of the class and streaked the opposite way the students were pouring out into , I heard someone call out my name. I turned around, just as I was going to pass a corner, and saw a flock of flaming red hair. He's going to have to wait.

I quick walked , well sprinted, to her office. I knocked on her door, and entered without her even saying that I could. Her lips press into a thin smile.

"Wood, to what do I owe this pleasure?"

"Can you appoint me a tutor? I really want to pass at the end of the year"

"Of course, I was getting worried about your grades and was ready to do it myself." She flicks through some files "You'll know who your tutor is after
Hallowe'en , but for now go enjoy yourself Wood?"
I smiled awkwardly and left her office and sprinted to the common room.

I barked the password to the portrait of the fat lady and entered. I needed to find Percy and see what was wrong, I had never expected him to interact with me outside of class. I didn't see him anywhere in the common room , so I deducted that he must be in the dormitories. I ran up the stairs, almost bumped into someone and pushed open the door. There I saw Percy on his bed scribbling on a scroll of paper.

"Percy." I panted out "What's up? What did you need?"

Percy blushed a crimson red.

"I just wanted to ask if you needed help with the homework Snape set."

Homework? God, I really wasn't listening was I? Apparently Percy could tell I didn't know there was homework because he then said,

"Come over here, I'll help you. I won't do it FOR you- because you'll never learn- but I'll show you how to do it."

I grabbed some ink and parchment out of my bag, and sat down beside Percy on his bed. We were so close that I could smell him- he smelt of fields. It reminded me of my childhood. Over the course of an hour, he and filled my head with so many facts that it was all a swirl. At least my homework was done.

Finally it was Hallowe'en, we had previously gone down to the Great Hall and had a marvellous feast. I made sure to eat enough, but not completely to the brim because I knew we were going to have a party in the common room later.

All the Gryffindor's rushed out to get to their dormitories to get changed for the party. I had gotten a suit, fake vampire teeth and fake blood for Dracula, I was excited to see what Percy would be.

I walked with the other first years back to our common room, I found it easy to make friends. Percy? He was right at the back, I felt bad for him. I felt worse when our eyes locked together, and then I turned away pretending that I didn't see him. Genuinely, why couldn't I just go up to him and talk? Talk like a normal person.

We entered our dormitory, I pulled out my suit - it had a few creases, but overall looked fine- put on the fake teeth and put the fake blood anywhere that seemed suited. I went back down into the common room. Some people were blasting fireworks inside - how was that even possible- the fireplace was bigger than ever before and almost everyone was down in here. There were piles of food on the tables, I wondered who was able to even make this much food. I looked around to see if I could recognise anyone, some of the first years were in little groups or talking with older siblings.

I saw someone walk out of the stairwell. It was Percy and he was...

Dracula.

Oh my god, we were matching. It was pretty hilarious since he's ginger, but I couldn't lie he did clean up nicely. I went up laughing to him.

"You look amazing"

He gave me a disgruntled look.

"You ignored me earlier- it's fine-" he added, when he saw I wanted to say something "and I really didn't know what to do for Hallowe'en."

Me and Percy spent the night together, as the crows thinned him and I were still down in the common room. We sat in the armchairs and decided to play truth or dare.

"Truth or dare?" I ask

"Truth." He says almost immediately.

"Hmm, how many siblings do you have?"

Percy seemed to be counting in his head

"Six."

My jaw dropped, SIX? How was that even possible?
"SIX? Are yous sure? That is- blimey - that must be a handful" my accent was coming thick and aggressive, Percy laughed nervously.

"Your turn. Truth or dare?"

"Dare, of course"

Haha, cliffhanger guys 🥰🥰
I have a good idea for the next chapter, involving a popular trope. Might get released tonight if I feel motivated.
