The morning sun poured through the windows of Tony's penthouse as he woke up inside his queen sized bed. As he stirs awake, his eyes open and he checks his phone. The screen reads:
9:13AM and he gets out of bed. He does his morning routine. Brush his teeth, shower, eat breakfast, then head into his in home studio. The session the night before had unlocked something in him. A clarity, a purpose. His cover of Darling Nikki wasn't just a song; it was a manifesto for the album he was building.
A knock on the door was heard and he goes to answer it. The door opens, and it's his best friend and producer, Louie.
"Did you get any rest last night? You've got that mad genius look going on." He says as he walks inside the luxurious penthouse
Tony glanced up, smirking. "Sleep's overrated. Besides, I've got too much in my head right now to stop. Also, to answer your question? Yes."
As the two discussed their plans for the album, Tony's phone buzzed on the glass table in front of him. Some texts from the label's he's signed to, to notifications on multiple social media outlets. But, one notification stood out to him. It was a text from Camille, the super model he met the night before.
"Hey, just checking to see if you're still coming to my photoshoot. If not, that's okay." Her text message said.
"You already have her number?" Louie joked as he saw the message and Tony shrugs.
"Of course, you know me." Tony jokes
"Yeah, un fucking fortunately. I'm still scarred from hearing one of your various sexcapades while we were on tour the last time." Louie reminisced in horror.
"Hey, nobody told you to get married." Tony smiled while typing on his phone screen.
His text message reads:
"I'll be there. Just finishing some things for the album, then I got a label meeting in a hour."
Louie throws a pillow at his long time friend and it hits him in the shoulder.
"Ow! Aye, what the fuck?!" Tony says playfully
"We have business you fuckin' moron!" Louie chuckled "She can wait, also, you have a meeting with the label."
"I-first, fuck you" Tony laughs while pointing "Second, I know. I'm gonna play them the song. You work on some beats while I'm there?" He asks
"Yeah, we'll work here or at the other studio?" Louie asked while his friend rushed out the door.
"Here! Invite some people too! I'll be back!"
And Tony was out the door before Louie could say anything.
"Man's gonna be the death of the me one day." He says shaking his head.
Tony's Porsche pulls up to a luxury building downtown. Walking inside, he heard the clicking of cameras and music playing ... He was at the photoshoot and he saw Camille in a red robe, posing in front of the photographer.
"Just like that Camille! Yes! That's perfect!" Some lady says as the young model poses.
Tony watched as the model was in her element, the song that blurred over the speakers, Blood on the Dance Floor by Michael Jackson, captured the mood perfectly. As Camille looks at the photographer, she notices Tony and smiles. Then, everyone turns around and spots the young superstar.
"You made it!" Camille says as she gets off the table
"Whoa, hey Camille, we're not-" her manager says
"Tammy, just ... two seconds okay?" Camille interrupted her. "Sorry about that." She says
"No, don't be, I understand. So, what's this shoot for?" Tony asked
"Vogue actually. I'm gonna be on the cover of the next issue." Camille answers "How's the album?"
"That's what I came here to talk to you about. I want you to be in a video with me." Tony revealed "Darling Nikki's basically finished, Louie's at the house right now making beats for me, so ..."
"Yeah. Okay, yeah! Sure, I'll talk with my manager about that after this okay? We can work something out."
Before he could say anything else, Tony's phone rings and it's the label reminding him that he has a meeting to attend.
"That's the label, I gotta go. But hey! I'm having a party if you wanna come. I'm celebrating the release of the single tonight."
"For sure, I'll call you and let you know."
"Camille!" Tammy's voice shouted behind her
"I gotta go." Camille rolled her eyes "It was nice seeing you Tony, I'll keep in touch."
