Camila POV:
Running out of the dance studio and Lauren being no where to be seen I rushed towards the exit and opened the door to the dark sky outside.
Seeing the dark haired girl disappear around the corner of the building towards the forrest made me question where she was hurrying away to.
I picked up the pace, but carefully so she didn't hear me following her and came too a large abandoned building and I quickly crouched behind a mossy wall until I heard her make her way inside.
I pushed open the heavy door and walked through the dark corridor until I heard a loud amp like crunch coming from one of the rooms at the top of hallway, I followed the sound into a room which looked like an old studio still filled with equipment and I heard the sound of something being dragged across the floor towards the studio so I ran towards the small desk and crawled underneath it.
Lauren came through the door dragging another amp into the recording studio and started setting up other instruments in the corner, she came back into the room with the desk and reached up for the light switch. I began to panic as the only thing hiding me was darkness of the room, she flicked the switch and luckily enough headed back towards the mixing table and started to adjust the switches until once again she disappeared behind the glass.
Finishing off tampering amp cables and microphone stands Lauren played a drum track that I vaguely recognised as 'Wildest Dreams' by Taylor Swift and stepped towards the microphone grabbing the headphones and placing them over her ears.
'He said, "Let's get out of this town,
Drive out of the city, away from the crowds."
I thought heaven can't help me now.
Nothing lasts forever, but this is gonna take me down'The way she belted out those first couple of lines made me sit there in absolute awe, her husky voice complimented the song very well and she made it her own, my eyes and mouth still wide from complete shock of not knowing how much of a beautiful voice Lauren has (Well I mean everything else about her is perfect so I don't know why I didn't think her singing would be.)
I crawled out from under the desk and stood up and clapped, stunning Lauren remembering I was supposed to keep quiet as she didn't know i was here...
Lauren's POV:
"Who would've known that The Lauren Jauregui sang."
I heard a strangely familiar voice say followed by loud claps. My eyes bulged as footsteps got closer to me and before I knew it Camila was lingering in the doorway.
'W-what are you doing here' I asked nervously and Camila gives me a smirk.
"Well I was going to ask you if you wanted pizza later for when we go to the treehouse but you ran away so I thought I'd follow you" She said still smirking and brushing her hair out of her face.
'No thanks I'm not hungry' I say my face turning flushed as Camila walked towards me.
"So softball girl can sing? Is their anything she can't do?" Camila says as she makes her way towards the drum kit. "You don't need the backing track I can play for you instead" she requests sitting down but my mind still wonders how she knows about me playing softball.
'Wait how do you know about me playing softball?' I ask and she looks at me with a confused expression on her face.
"Doesn't everyone who goes to Miami high know that you are the softball captain and most of all 'queen' of the school?" My eyes widened at Camila's words and I turned to face the drum kit where she was sitting.
'You go to Miami high?' I ask stupidly as I know she does since she just explained what I do there.
"Yeah, but you obviously didn't know that because I'm not important enough to get your attention" she said with hurt in her voice, I felt awful so I began to walk towards the drum kit and crouched down next to her.
'Hey listen, I might be a fucking asshole in school but I promise that is not who I am. I'm only like that because I acted like that when I was a freshman and the image kinda stuck, believe me I would not ignore someone as amazing as you Camila, not on purpose.
You're too hard to ignore.' Camila's face lit up and she flashed me a huge smile, her face going a bright shade of red and I began to laugh.
'Look who's gone quiet now, I'll pack up here and we will go and get pizza okay?' I ask and she shakes her head.
"No I want to hear you sing, without the backing track. I'll play" she demands as she positions herself at the drums properly, adjusting the hi-hat and bass pedal.
The drums started off and I stared at Camila amazed, the way she put so much concentration into playing and then I remembered I was supposed to come in but I was too busy staring at Camila.
"Are you okay? You look a bit nervous." Camila questions me whilst slowing down her playing.
'No-I-uh yeah I'm fine I just got distracted that's all' I manage to spit out and Camila giggled at my loss for words.
The drums started to kick in again and Camila flashed me a reassuring look, "You ready?" She asked and I gave a soft nod.
'He said, "Let's get out of this town,
Drive out of the city, away from the crowds."
I thought heaven can't help me now.
Nothing lasts forever, but this is gonna take me downHe's so tall and handsome as hell
He's so bad but he does it so well
I can see the end as it begins
My one condition isSay you'll remember me standing in a nice dress,
Staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks
Say you'll see me again
Even if it's just in your wildest dreams, oh, ah, wildest dreams, oh, ah.'
The drums slowed down and I took that as a signal to stop, I glanced at Camila who was smiling the widest I've ever seen anyone smile before."Do you have any idea how amazing you are?" Camila asked and I turned away hiding shy smile appearing on my face.
'Obviously not but I didn't know you played the drums that's kinda um...' I tried to finish before Camila interrupted.
"Weird because I'm that shy girl who barely even speaks an here I am bashing a drum kit, yeah it is kinda weir...." I cut her off by walking towards her and putting my finger on her lips.'Well I was going to say hot but if you insist on being weird I guess I can deal with that' I smirked and she looked at me and smiled shyly.
I took the drum sticks out of her hands and helped her up
'C'mon then let's go and find the others so we can get some pizza.' I say as we walk out of the studio and into the forrest where a silence fell between for about 2 minutes until I decided to break it.'Oh and Camila, please don't tell anyone at school about this whole 'singing thing' my dad and friends don't approve' I ask and she nods understandingly and locks fingers with the hand I draped across her shoulder as we walked back towards the campus.
