When I got there I looked up the stairs to see him, his facial expression throwing me off by a milestone. Walking up the stairs I nod at my maid to go ahead and come up with me, she stepped up to the very step infront of me of him right next to me. Her nerves obvious you could basically smell it off of her, that and you could see exactly how spoiled she was. The black satin dress that matched the other maids but sewn better and fitted better to her and her body. She looked just as good as me if not better.
" Hello King Damien" I hum lowly as I make eye contact with him, I was about the same height as him if not a little shorter. He was strong, long white hair that was shaggy on the sides with a thick beard, a strong jawline, a superior nose that made it looked like he deserved his title of king. If anything he deserved a death certificate, With a gold heading." H-Hello" he stammered as if hurt and thrown off, his voice betraying his stern face " y-Welcome to Fennoch hopefully it isn't too cold for you all." His eyes stayed on me though as if studying me, so weird.
" Not cold at all" I say sternly as snow began to fall, the tension began to grow. The hatred in my heart spewing my disinterest and anger at him faster and faster, Like adding oil to a fire in summer." We brought a gift!" my brother speaks up, as if he had any right to " We brought you a Diot in representation of the treaty." He snapped his fingers and one of his maids ran to the carriage and grabbed a cage before coming back, carefully walking back and running up the stairs to me with it.
Reluctantly I turn and open the cage gently lifting the pup out, the sounds of its harsh hisses loud and clear as it looked around. I quickly soothe it knowing how ruthless my brother's seekers probably treated the poor feline. Its scales were dried out showing that it was dehydrated and my gaze grew from hatred to concern as I looked at the poor animal. My brother's voice blurring as I turn to Salice and she rushes to the snow and grabs a handful, letting it melt in her hands before giving it to the poor creature." Her names Storm" I groan cutting off my brother with a stern voice, " she eats raw meat, carrots, and grass. She can be accustomed to fennoch land and will need a coat until she does." I go on explaining her needs as I take some of the ice cold water and rub it into her horns to remove some of the ash from them.
" She's beautiful" Damien hums hands extended, his guards now on edge with his sudden movements. I glare at him waiting for storm to get her fill before gently giving him to her, ignoring the strange zap I got from our hands briefly touching. His gaze drifts to me at the zap as if expecting something but stares confused when I pulled away as fast as I did. " Well. Thankyou I'm surprised, I didn't expect this at all" he chuckled, " Follow me inside if you will" he smiled before turning and leading us inside.
As I followed behind him my feet stomped with pride, pride for all of the wars I've won inside and out. As I stepped through the castle doors my gaze immediately flickered to the sound of people talking, music humming in the distance. As we stepped closer I could hear the talking cease to exist as Damien came into view, almost everything coming to hault like it was frozen in time.Left right up and down the stairs people were everyone, in silence as I walked through. Their faces blurring all into one face of disgust and interest, royals and high ranking officials beginning to whisper to their kids. The kids interest quickly changing into what their parents wanted, hate they had to hate me...I want them to hate me. As I reach the first step I hear my brothers chuckle as they eye fuck some women, moving to stand next to me.
I scoff expanding my wings, that effortlessly went over then ends of the railing hitting them both in the face reminding them to stay professional. They groan cursing lowly and rubbing their noses, Stalice tried to stifle her laughter as she slid my cloak off. I lowered my wings and began my descent down the stairs, she walked off to join my brothers butlers. As I reached the last step the upper floors began talking again and I walked off to General Abel. He was a wise man, whose son was weak and domesticated, but fought like a true value soldier. As I approached he glared daggers into my soul, my face not showing an inch of remorse till I was not even three feet infront of him. I extended my hand, " I'm sorry for the death of your son, he was a valiant soldier" I lie forcing and manipulating a sympathetic look in my eye. His gaze stiffened and his body did as well, slowly he took my hand and shook it before storming off as if he couldn't bother to say anything to me. Coward.
Just like that everything resumed except for the eyes traveling my body and wings, throughout the first few hours I could hear people getting drunker and drunker. Their gleeful banter quiet around my sober self as I refused any drink by the waiters. I was parched and hungry but through the years I learned to mask it. Keeping a stern look on my face and my hands in my lap, I stay seated in the far back corner. My brothers already gone probably shagging some girl, their disgusting men with no self control of their body or mouth." a dance?" A voice speaks from behind me and I turn surprised anyone would ever ask me. When my eyes follow the hand extended to me I follow it to Damien. His guard next to him obviously angry he would ever bother with asking me.
"Hmm sure" I hum taking his hand gently, another zap coming from him that pulls my hand to his and instantly his face heats. As he leads I follow him, walking with him I almost chuckle at the gasps and glares we get. Their eyes filled with disturbance, why would I say yes to a dance with him. I hate him but a dance even if it was just one just felt right, it felt like I needed to dance with him as if me saying no would be the one thing I would regret the most.As he pulled me into the center, a few people followed with their wives or people they wanted to court. Forming circles in circles as the music slowly began. His hand slid down to my hip and mine to his shoulder both of them zapping into place. It was weirding me out, why was he electric to me? Why did I feel like I needed to touch him more.
Sway with him
A part in my brain screamed at me so I listened following his pace with the dance, my eyes drilling holes into his. " You seem so angry" he hums as the music grew louder muffling everyone else.
" I don't exactly like fennoch lands" I huff, my gaze flicking to a general in the background talking to my brother. " Why did you ask me to dance?" I hum my gaze flicking back to him as he spins me.
" have you find your tie of soul yet?" He asks suddenly, dodging my question.
" answer me first" I groan as my hand goes back to his shoulder the zap happening again.
" Because I needed too" he smirked the notion almost charming.
" No i haven't...my family doesn't have the best history of ties of soul" I admit.
" Mmm why is that?" He humms interested masking the shock that was originally on his face.
" no idea, why do you keep zapping me?"
" cause Your my tie of soul" he smiled. My face goes full of shock my gaze snapping out of my lucid anger filled face. Finally the song ends and I quickly walk away, storming outside the ballroom in search of the ladies room. I could hear him following me but I didn't care, my face and body began to sweat and shake with panic and I enter the bathroom with a groan, everyone who was inside urgently rushing out and I go to shut the door but he blocks me. Stepping inside.
" Your mine pretty bird" he smiled as he shut the door, and I groan too frustrated and panicked to give him a valid response. I enter a changing room and slam the door as I do, anger filling my bones. " Don't hide we need to talk about thį" he began to blur out as I paced in the changing room. Tearing my dress and heels from my body, the corset Stalice put on me making me panick more as I try to tear it off.
Not knowing how I pull the dagger from between my breasts and cut it straight down the middle letting out a loud gasp as it falls. My hands connecting to the wall as I tried to focus, my heart louder than my thoughts I focus on it. Letting it lead me back to calm.
