Orko: The Great Ringbearer

Chapter 6

Orko was trying his best to hold on to his things during the storm and then the next thing he knew he was spit out through a portal. "Where am I? What is this place? This isn't Trolla." Orko said. Orko recognized it as the swamp from his dreams.

Meanwhile some figures from someplace on Eternia were watching. "Yes he arrived right schedule." one said.

"Yes he did," said a second voice.

"But he just received his emblem recently," said a third voice.

"True but he has talent and skill," said a fourth voice.

"He also has the heart," a fifth voice said. "We know he can handle it after all it was foreseen and foretold it would happen this way and this how he would be come a great ringbearer." she added.

Meanwhile Orko was looking around. "Help!" he heard and Orko saw a young boy and his pet sinking in the swamp. Orko began to pull and use magic with his hand and wand and the same time the boy and his pet were pulled out but Orko was flung into a very sharp rock managed to get a big cut on the his left arm that went all the way down to his left small finger. The rock also cut through his robe. His wand also snapped in half from what happened due being weakened by the storm. "Ow my arm and hand," Orko said. Then he saw his wand. "My wand!" he said.

The kid picked up the other piece of the wand. "Thanks for saving me," the kid said. "Sorry about your wand," he said.

"It's okay I might be able to fix it later." Orko said.

"What is that purple stuff dripping down your arm and hand?" the boy asked.

"Oh that's my blood," Orko said.

"Your blood?! You mean your bleeding?!" the boy asked. "Come with me and I know someone who can help." he said.

"I don't know, and I want to go home but I don't think I can a storm like that has been known to strand creatures on other worlds," Orko said.

"Well you can still come I can't leave you here hurt, you saved me," the boy said. "Follow me I remember the way home," he said.

"I'll be fine I can't burden you," Orko said. "I have to find a way to get back home and I will be fine," he said.

"But I can't leave you here like I said before," the boy said. Then the boy took out some bandages he kept on hand. "I am glad I never leave without a first aid kit," he said. Then he wrapped up Orko's arm.

"Come on let's go," the pet said.

"Your pet talks?" Orko asked.

"Yes," the boy said. "My name is Adam and this is Cringer, what's your name?" he asked.

"Orko," Orko answered.

"Come on Orko follow me," Adam said. "Like or not I am taking you to get fixed up hero," he said. Orko followed Adam to the royal palace.

"Adam, son where have you been we have been so worried." a woman said.

"Adam I know you like to explore son but you know better than to go far," a man said.

Orko could see this man and woman was a king and queen. This meant Adam was a prince. "I'm okay thanks to Orko here," Adam said introducing Orko. "Orko saved Cringer and I from drowning in the tar swamp." he said.

"Thank you very much Orko." the queen said. "I am Marlena and this my husband Randor." she said.

"Mom, dad he needs Man at Arms he's hurt," Adam said. Orko's hand was still bleeding. "That purple stuff seeping through the bandage, he said is his blood," he said.

"That is a big wound," King Randor said. "I will make sure Man at Arms sees to it right away." he said.

Orko was taken to meet Man at Arms who was told the situation. Orko was now in Man at arms work shop. The bandage Adam put on his had a few spots of violet from his blood. Orko saw there was girl with red hair and a robot. There was even a girl with dark skin and here hair in braids and a young man with his hair sticking up in front. "So this thing saved you?" the red headed girl asked.

"Yes Teela," Adam said.

"What is he?" a the dark girl asked. "What do you think he Damien?" she asked.

"I don't know, Andra," the boy with spiky hair who was Damien said.

"Are you a dwarf, a troll, or an imp?' the robot said. "By the way I am Roboto." he said.

"I am none of those things," Orko said. "I am Trollan," he said as he watch man at arms gather things he needed to treat Orko.

"Trollan never heard of them." the kids said.

"Same here," Roboto said.

"I am not surprised at really," Orko said. "Trolla closed it self off to it's part of the universe centuries ago." he said. "Not many outside our planet's part of universe remembers them anymore I think." he said. "But I am able to do magic," he said.

"That's how he saved me," Adam said.

"Yes but I won't be able to do my magic easily on this world because of old tale that says a Trollan without their medallion or wand or staff to use as conduit for control on another world won't be able to make it work right," Orko said.

"Right your wand broke in two while you were saving me," Adam said.

"Well don't blame yourself I also had to use to help keep me steady my other stuff from slipping away in the storm gate I was in." Orko said. "They can happen without warning on Trolla or happen because someone else makes them." he said.

"Okay now let's take a look at arm and hand," Man at arms said.

"So your name is Man at arms?" Orko asked.

"Well it's my title, but my actual name is Duncan," Duncan said. "What is your name by the way I think my apprentices, my daughter and robot son forgot to asked for it," he said scolding.

"Orko," Orko said.

"Okay Orko first I am going to clean up your arm and hand," Man at arms said and cleaned up the back of Orko's arm all the way down to his hand and small finger. Then blood and dirt was gone and Man at arms could see a big cut. "Okay I am going to have to give you stitches, this cut is very big so the only way to fix it is with stitches." he said. "I am going to numb your arm and hand up a little." he said and proceed to do so. Then went to work sewing up the cut on Orko's arm and hand. Orko was doing his best to stay still. Man at arms worked for about an hour and a half and managed to sew the entire cut closed. "There you go all done," he said after a bit. Then proceed to bandage him up. "That should do it. You will have a scar though once the stitches come out I am afraid." he said. "It is only because you cut is so big," he said.

"So Orko where are you going to go if you can't go home at the moment?" Adam asked.

"I don't know to be honest," Orko said. "I have no idea where I am going to go," he said. "I don't even know how to get home or even if I will be able to go home," he said.

"I am sure my parents will think of something," Adam said. "I am sure they will be happy to help you," he said.

King Randor and Queen Marlena made Orko apart of the royal court and gave him a room to stay in. They were happy to help Orko and give him a place to stay. It made Orko very happy. "Thank you very much," Orko said. "I will try my best to help in any way I can," he said.

Orko soon discovered he was right about his magic not being able to work right on Eternia a lot of the time. It was so embarrassing but to be expected. He was wondering how he could live up to the legacy of his predecessors now. He was good at making people at the palace laugh. He liked making people laugh it made him feel good. Even though man at arms got annoyed with him he valued Orko and Orko valued him. But Orko also got annoyed with Man at arms apprentices who would often come into the room that the king and queen gave Orko to practice his magic uninvited and cause problems for him.

But Orko would soon realize his skills and strengths. He would become a valuable ally to the champion and soon achieve his own destiny.
